Thanks man. It's been a little over a year now, and seeing the place in photos makes me realize how bare the walls are! I better start looking for some photos/art to put up on those walls.

Yeah, it was a bit of a premium to get a unit on the 24th floor, but well worth it to me. I'm not a fan of heights though, so the view down from the balcony is a little unnerving

Yeah the coffee table was my choice. Actually, the whole living room was my choice. The fiance got the bedroom. It's a lot girly-er in there let me tell you!

And yeah, paid a pretty penny for that table. Looking back now, when I bought that table, I wasn't nearly as into HT as I am now. If you ask me now if I would buy that table again, or instead for the same price have an AV123 MFW-15, or maybe an SVS cylinder sub... I might consider resting all my drinks on the floor

hahaha and no, it's not room and board. This is my place... sorry... I mean "our" place

Nice!!! I love the stand! I've got too much junk, and not a lot of space, so I had to go with something that would store and conceal the mess! You don't want to see what's in that left side of my shelf!

What speakers/sub are you using? And what model Sammy is that? Looks like an '07 model?

hahaha I don't think we have that store up here in Canada.

I'm not sure what this store is like, but it makes me wonder how expensive their furniture is, when you say it's out of your budget, given that you've got some really nice HT gear!

I don't think things aren't out of our budgets... we just choose to spend more on the things we like most. In my case, the fiance really likes to decorate, while I like my HT stuff. So that means I have to compromise my HT budget for nicer furniture, and vice versa. In other words, no Kuros for me

Thanks! Fashion won over function in this case unfortunately, cuz they're too small for anything outside of a few coasters for your beers. Then again, what more do I need to put on them besides my beverage?

The wires (rear speaker wires plus subwoofer cable) are actually just loosely run along the baseboards along the sides of the wall. The curtains do a nice job of concealing them when they're shut. Not so much when you open them up.

i suppose you are right, its not that it's out of my budget per-say, but for a coffee table, i think its a bit much for me. haha.

Thanks guys, and everyone else for the compliments!

I find it amusing, that all the comments are centered around my furniture, and mind you, not even AV-related furniture. You would think this thread was on home decor, not home theater!

Yeah I've got the Harmony 550. I believe they're coming out with yet another model though this year (the 510 I think), although all the 500 series remotes are nearly identical, and the only thing differentiating them are like 1 or 2 buttons.

I have the 690 as well, and having used these remotes for a couple years now, they're all pretty much the same functionality wise. I'm not sure about their Harmony One or the 1000, but the rest to me seem to work all the same basically.

I do like the aesthetics better on the 550, as the silver colouring on the 690 wears off actually. The only faults I have with the 550 are the numeric buttons. They're quite tiny, even for me, so it's not the easiest to punch in buttons simply by touch. The other flaw could be that it doesn't have a built-in Lithium-ion battery pack and charger cradle, so you either go with your own rechargeable NiMh, or replace your regular 4-AAA's every 4 months.

Overall, the 550 is a pretty solid remote, as most of them are as well. My last tip I guess would be to find it somewhere else besides a big box store like Bestbuy, as they overcharge like crazy on them.

Very high on the WAF too

Couldn't have put it any better myself!!!!

Also.... where else could we actually admit we like furniture, kitchen appliances, and architectural details, other than an anonymous internet forum

I can't admit to my wife how much I really do enjoy shopping for a Stove, curtains, etc!!!!!!

The r,
nice setup! You're giving me hope as I also bought a condo and am looking forward to setting it up "Ht style"

If I can ask, where did you buy your couch from?
I'm in Toronto, so hopefully we have a store here.

regards,
L

I wish we went with the dark finish when we recently refinished ours, but with two dogs, the natural colors hides the claws marks better. You need to have pristine floors to pull off that look.

They truly are beautiful.
