yeah, this is a major misstep in Marvel's plans. And if it ties in closely with Avengers 2, it will drag that down as well.

I know you guys who are familiar with the comics are all gung ho about it, but the general public will not be as enthusiastic. Mark my words and come back in 2014 to see I told you so.

So, it's 2014...did you tell us so?

If Marvel does proceed with a film based on this, they certainly should not try to position it as a major blockbuster release, because it won't be. On the contrary, I would think it will not do well at all.

I think these were the funniest. Nothing against cinemaphile, but if you read both of these comments (that are on the first page) and then see what he voted for in the above poll, it's hilarious!

It's funny how many of those older posts are referencing Howard the Duck in a comparison of how bad this movie will be.

I know I wasn't sold when I first heard about it but the trailers turned me around and I'm glad I changed my mind, this movie turned out to be a rather pleasant trip to the theatre.

Superhero movies that are sucessful are the ones where the characters are well known by all. I.e. Spiderman, xmen, iron man, etc etc.. I'm sorry but this just wont work at all

saw this last night. I have never read the comics so I was less than familiar with the characters. I was absolutely blown away. 1000x times better then I had anticipated. Great movie. I would rank it number 2 on the marvel movies list behind avengers and I cannot wait to see it again and the blu-ray will be stellar.

A loooong time ago (maybe after first trailer?) I posted that I was never so happy to be so wrong!

At the time I knew nothing about the series and assumed they would play it straight like the rest of their films, and that would have been disastrous. But I think they found the right tone and director for the film and it worked perfectly!
