If you look carefully (since I think the shot of it is from far away) it looks different than his.

Well said. Contrasting opinions are a main stage for the most interesting conversations. In this case, some people are realizing that Avatar is not necessarily a crap-fest, or that it isn't exactly the Shawshank Redemption of movies.

Apparently enough people thought it was Norm that it is listed in the IMDB "Incorrectly Regarded as Goofs" section for Avatar.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Though it would seem Norm is standing next to his Avatar near the end of the movie (which would be physically impossible) we see multiple avatars with trousers and guns in the background. These are likely the other avatars we saw at the beginning of the movie.

Good point. thanks, i'll give it a shot. Same thing happened to me when I ordered LOTR earlier this month so I may bring that up to them as another reason for being dissatisfied by their service haha.

Spot on with the review - I was very impressed that the reviewer was able to buck all the hype and write an accurate, incisive review, touching on many of the things that made Avatar such a bittersweet affair for me when I first saw it in theaters. Like the new Star Wars trilogy, this movie could have been a timeless classic for the ages, but Cameron crippled a brilliant plot mechanism and a peerless setting with the weak script and the 2D characters. (Can't these directors ever hire a good scriptwriter?) Avatar will forever be remembered for the visual spectacle and little more, unfortunately, since I could watch the flying sequences hundreds of times and still be entranced in wide-eyed bliss.

You realize his review is simply his opinion as well, right?

Just because someone really likes and enjoys the film, doesn't mean they're falling for hype.

Frankly I do consider it a timeless classic. And clearly I'm not alone in that thinking.

You're opinion says weak script and 2D characters. And I just can't agree with that.

To me, the visuals are great. But they're still secondary to the engaging story and characters.

I just finished watching the Blu-ray... is it just me or did Neytiri's nipples show in some scenes? It looks like they did... never noticed in IMAX 3D though.

Just watched this for the first time. Meh, the visual effects are fine but that's really all the movie has going for it. I'm glad I only rented it. PQ and AQ are outstanding though.

I run a Panny CRT 48in 1080i ; Sony BD-301 off componets with a Yamaha 5.1 system.

Even if it is a free trial two days is two days.Your item was not delivered as promised.I had this free trial three times and always got it on release day and shipped by UPS.And I always got my item in exactly two days.

Is it just me or do the screenshots in the review look kind of.... soft? They don't look anything near the quality of the Blu-ray I just watched. More like the DVD copy to me.
