U.S. 2 movie set for $43 or U.K. 4 movie set for $65?

Amazon UK sent out a "bigthanks" coupon code that knocked ten bucks off any orders over 50 gbp placed yesterday. Ended up cancelling my order with Zavvi and pre-ordering the set with Amazon UK, who finally have a listing for it now.

The U.K. One wil definitely drop a lot lower on Amazon. I'm not sure how much the us one will. I think the U.K. One will end up being the better deal. Also it would annoy me that the book includes info on 3 and 4 if my set didn't also include those movies, so I'll definitely be going with the U.K. set.

Thanks for that. I just preorder pieces and the House Collection! Even if Pices stays the same and House just matches what it already is at other places, With the extra £10, I probably won't be paying too much more than what the US set will cost!

I tried the code last night and it said the Video set doesn't qualify for the promotion.

If you're in the US, you'll need to add something else to your cart to bring the total over £50.00. Amazon will take the VAT off in check out, which drops the price of the box set down to £49.99. You're £0.01 short, unfortunately.

Do they sell M&Ms separately?

Thanks for posting about the Amazon UK code - added the Fright Night blu to my cart and was able to use the code. Not too shabby.

Heh, yeah. The code was pretty sweet. I actually have three Amazon accounts from my days of selling stuff online, and I was able to use the code on each one for different blu-ray pre-orders.

House IV is absolute garbage, they should pay you to own it.

I have the "Two Stories" set pre-ordered with DeepDiscount for about $38. I just went ahead and pre-ordered the "4-Movie Collection" on Amazon.co.uk, as it's about $40 USD right now (If my math is right?). My issue is, I've never cancelled a pre-order from DeepDiscount before, and can't figure out how to.. Am I even able to? Any help would be appreciated.

Is Amazon reliable for Arrow Films releases? I read posts about people having bad experiences with Creepshow 2 LE preorders. Also Amazon UK says region A and B for House Complete Collection. So this means all the discs will work in US players?

I've never had a problem with Amazon UK for Arrow releases (I got my Creepshow 2 with no problem too, in fact), so I wouldn't worry about that. As for the region coding, it hasn't been confirmed yet, but people are assuming 1 and 2 will be A+B, because they're getting released in the US too, but 3 will probably be region-locked to B, because Shout! have the rights in the US. 4 may be locked too, although there is no US release.

I think it means the 1st 2 are A+B. Not the 3rd and 4th

I have cancelled several order with Deep Discount. Just email their customer service contact with your order number and request a cancellation. Just be prepared to wait about a week for a refund.

I order all my Arrow UK stuff from Amazon UK and have never had a problem. The Creepshow 2 debacle didn't effect me either though, I got my copy on release day. I think that was the only movie where there was a HUGE problem though. Something went wrong with that release.

And there never will be. I'd be surprised if Arrow locks this one. I'm looking forward to revisiting House IV. My last viewing was from a VHS rental sometime in the mid 90's. I remember being slightly disappointed because it felt worlds apart from the original film but at the same time it did have that connection via the Roger Cobb character so it was still linked in a way. It was a radically different story direction but was still in that universe so it kept that emotional connection. Actually, as more of the film comes back to me the more I want to see it again.

Warner really should license 4 to another company if they have no plans to ever release it.

By the way, the 4 disc House set is now cheaper on Amazon than the 2 disc domestic release. The UK costs £32.24 (about $39.91) shipped while the current Amazon domestic price is $42.99 shipped (plus a slight bit more for me for the tax).

Region A customers should beware that the UK set may have some or all region B discs.
