Picked up UK Jurassic World to go with US Fallen Kingdom. Anal retentive side won't be bothered by thicker case as US 3D edition came in a fatty as well.

I buy plenty of mediocre BDs but that does not float for me with UHD. I would probably spring for Lost World UHD but not as long as 1 and 3 are hot garbage.

Jurassic Park III is the one not worth it? If so, I agree for sure. I've viewed the first now on a capable set and think it's not ideal the transfer we got, but I do believe it's 4K and the DNR button was just a hair aggressive to attempt to keep the CGI from being even more stand out (in a negative way). But HDR was decent.

This is another title that always sees re-releases so I'm assuming it's to be remedied in time -- And hopefully with a CGI touch up -- I think they figure they can get away with milking JP. And I'm fine to keep paying for a top 10 film of mine if it keeps improving. Sorry not sorry for that stance.

Universal didn't touch the grain on The Mummy and that 4K transfer is nice as hell. I don't think the DNR has anything to do with making the CG elements stand out less, Uni are scanning the film-out - so grain would be even across live-action and digital.

It just appears that Uni recycled old masters for this set. Which is funny looking back considering the 4K remasters Uni have released since - The Big Lebowski, Schindler's List, and Fast & Furious 1-3 - that are excellent.

Yeah. If I recall correctly JP3 looks pretty rough, but I think the other three are improvements. The original has issues obviously, but I think it still looks better than the old and very noisy BD.

No. They're the previously released Blu discs. Time to get a 4k player.

Anybody have a link to buy replacement UHD case to house the 4 movies? I want to put it on my shelf but prefer to match the standard size UHD cases.

Yeah, it's not just about fudging old CG IMO but more that whoever was managing this transfer decided to DNR *all* of the opticals and VFX regardless of them being analogue or digital, e.g. the shot of Dodgson arriving to meet Nedry has a burned in location title and it looks just as smeary and haloey as the CG shots do.

Another thing that bugs me about JP1 is a similar thing with T2, that they've smacked it with the DNR stick (albeit more selectively in JP's case) but somehow contrived to leave in lots of little blips of dirt and some scratches too, along with that image stabilisation artefact when Hammond is talking to Ellie and Grant in their trailer. It being an old transfer or new transfer doesn't really matter a great deal to me when they half-arse it like this.

I just picked this collection up at my WalMart a few days ago. I'll definitely have to repackage them and make some custom covers. I don't really like how there are 3 discs stacked on each side. Can't wait to watch them though.

Gave the disc for the first film a spin in my Panasonic DP-UB820 on an SDR display. I wasn’t alive back when this released in theaters, so while the grain’s been managed, it’s still the best I’ve ever seen it.

There is no 2013 2D version so it's the 2011 one.

I've finished the collection and would say JP1 and JP2 are pretty good. JP3 is ok (more about three later) and JW1 looked great.

Now about JP3. I've always enjoyed watching it in the past, But one thing I can never get over is Tea Leoni's screams or should I say attempted screaming. I can't even try to described what it sounds like. If she sounds like that in the bedroom, I feel for whoever is in there with her.

Wife had never seen these so we’ve been watching them, so far watched 1&2. I was even more dissatisfied with JP this go around. I still love the colour but everything else is meh. 2 still looks great but noticed more random filtering since watching on a newer panel. I tried talking her out of watching 3 but she wants to

Well, I watched The Lost World today. I never planned to buy it but Zoom were selling it for £9 so I couldn't resist at that price.

The presentation is mostly fine but the movie itself gets harder and harder to watch the older I get. With the exception of some cool set pieces and the always entertaining Jeff Goldblum, I found it borderline unbearable this time around.

Julianne Moore's character deserves to die a horrible, horrible death. I yearn for it to happen, but alas, i'm not that lucky. She's stroking a wild baby stegosaurus and then one minute later starts lecturing people about not interfering, minimal contact, fragile ecosystem, blah, blah blah. You're the absolute worst, lady!!
