I remember seeing a post where someone said that they found evidence that there was nothing specifically filmed/designed for IMAX. I didn't look into the evidence linked though as I won't go to see it in IMAX anyhow.

Yeah that's over at the the Premium screen thread. At the end credits it says Enhanced for IMAX Screens. It's there way of saying "thanks for spending 20+ bucks, we just ripped you off!"

Probably the best so far from the DCEU. It's good to have a director who respects narrative cohesion and characterization (don't think too hard) but can balance it with action and spectacle. I was surprised at the length of the climatic battle in the third act, but found it enjoyable as it built the necessary catharsis needed for Gadot overcoming her foe. Jenkins was smart enough to surround Gadot with experienced talent Nelson, Wright, Thewlis and allowed Pine to do the dramatic heavy lifting in parts. The chemistry between Gadot & Pine was clear from the beginning but I felt the humor dragged a little bit too long in the scenes between them. Gadot was both likable and charismatic I like the inexperienced origin angle and it worked for me in regards to her transformation at the climax.

I had a good night, might see it again.

Great film! We saw it in 3-D last night. There's not much 3D-wise, so if it is not released in 3D on Blu-ray it would not be a great loss. The movie, however, is a must see. The acting, the story, the visual effects, the music--everything is top-notch. Also, I think it has the most efficient origin story of any superhero movie I have ever seen. It does what it needs to do and moves on. We loved it, and it will be a day-one purchased for me.

We always know to ask, because we get promotional emails. This is the first I've heard of it.

She does a great job conveying emotion, and her accent and occasional stiffness suit this role really well (like how Arnie fit certain roles like Conan and Terminator perfectly).

I noticed she got a 'Thank You' credit at the end, but I didn't see her in the film. Where was Reeve in MoS?

Saw it last night. I concur, best, and in my opinion, the only great film so far in the DCEU. Gal Gadot won me over, for sure. Chris Pine was good as always. The one and only thing that I could say anything negative about was the final fight sequence. I have never been a fan of movie moments where the hero gets their ass handed to them for 5 - 10 minutes, then all of a sudden realizes their "true power" and ends the fight in a few seconds.

Everything else, though, top notch. Worthwhile story. Actual character building instead of incessant dark brooding. I give it 4 out of 5.

Tbf, it might be a happy coincidence, but even i was immediately struck by the second or so of footage of that seemed to morph Cavill into Reeve. I thought I was tripping.

EDIT: I can't stop changing my score for this movie haha. I fricken loved this movie! I'd give it an 8/10. It was a breath of fresh air and was a lot of fun and I'm a DC fanboy for life! But the film wasn't without its faults.

Gal Gadot did an amazing job, but unfortunately she was out acted by Chris Pine in nearly every scene. And even character wise it seemed Trevor was the actual hero, while Wonder Woman was just the muscle. She did eventually show her personal strength and determination. But that felt watered down by her disobeying the teams strategy every other scene. Her determination quickly starts feeling like a rebellious teenager more than the fish out of water and starts to get annoying.

The music was at times incredibly badass, and other times incredibly awful. In comedic scenes the music was so on the nose it felt like I was being told when to laugh. Just no, please stop.

[Show spoiler]When it comes to Ares, David Thewlis is an amazing actor and perfect casting. However when it comes to the final fight let's be honest Thewlis isn't actually the most threatening looking person. I think his transformation should have been quicker and more drastic. David Thewlis in a suit of armor was just not enough to make him threatening.

The German villains were a little too mustache twirly for my taste. A little too over the top and made you wish the scene would finish so we could get back to the heroes.

Which speaks to why this film still works so well despite its faults. Its main characters are extremely well written and performed. Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman for this generation. She's just fantastic and I think her performances will only get better with each film she's in. Her chemistry with Pine was off the charts! All of the side characters were fun and Chris Pine was well.... Chris Pine, and thats a good thing! You genuinely rooted for these characters and couldn't help but be 100% invested. The action was stunning and very Snyder-esque. Almost surprising it wasn't his name on the director card at the end. The film was so beautiful you didn't mind the slo-mo so you could just gawk at it.

Basically the film is so damn fun and so damn good you end up not caring that it has flaws, but the flaws are there none the less so I give it an 8/10 but a 10/10 in my heart haha.

Man Of Steel 10/10
Batman v Superman Ultimate Cut 9/10
Wonder Woman 8/10
Suicide Squad 7/10

I was disappointed that my theater didn't have an embossed metal popcorn bucket available to go with my BvS one from last year. But then I found an eBay listing that included three different popcorn buckets and two plastic cups. I bought that set and will be giving one of the buckets to my sister (the arms crossed one) and keeping two for myself.

She is the best thing in the movie. Even as someone who didn't like it (and believe me, I'm doing some deep soul searching given in the minority trying to figure what I missed), she absolutely is the character. The strength, the courage, the faith, the innocence, it's all there. Gal got it. It's seriously on par with Reeve as Superman and that's very high praise from me.

It depends, I still have to see the movie but in BvS it is clearly told that at a certain point she said "screw humanity" and decided to just lay low and live her life because she came to the conclusion that people in man's world are *******s.

More thoughts on the spectacle that is Wonder Woman from my FB page...

Wonder Woman... the movie... is truly genuine... genuinely charming... genuinely funny... genuinely inspirational... genuinely moving... genuinely KICK ASS and genuinely one of the best superhero origin stories EVER made. I know the superhero thing for some folks out there has been done to death... but if you're a fan of the genre... this film will absolutely not let you down. The World War I setting was impeccably detailed and believable and the cinematography was top notch from beginning to end. Gal Gadot simply 'owns' the role as our fearless heroine... and I'm not kidding here... everything she does on screen was breathtakingly amazing... and holy smokes she's HOT!!! Also, the chemistry between her and Chris Pine (Steve Trevor) was electric.

My Daughter and I simply LOVED this movie... we went to a premiere showing and during the movie people cheered, high fived and everyone clapped at the end when the credits rolled. Wonder Woman is a sight to behold and seeing how it made my Daughter's face light up like a Christmas tree only added to the enjoyment for me. We walked out talking only about how soon we could go back to see it all again. Yup... no doubt about it... the top of my superhero list is going to have to be reshuffled... because this Wonder of a Woman just seriously shook things up!!! Go see Wonder Woman... it's what summer movies are all about and then some!!!

My son and I saw this in IMAX last night, and we both loved it. We plan on seeing it again this weekend with my wife and daughter.

I'm not sure exactly how to say this, but I was happy to see so many guys of different ages seeing this movie. I was reading projections a month or so ago, and they were talking about potentially low ticket sales because the film had a lead female character (relative to other comic book movies). This is a great film, regardless of the genre of the lead character. This is not just a movie for women, but for everyone.

After reading the last 8 pages or so, I saw the World War II topic come up. Unless I missed something, I thought it was explained if you simply connected the dots.
[Show spoiler]Steve wanted to help stop the War, while Wonder Woman thought she could end the War by simply killing Aries. After using the "God Killer" sword, she thought the war would simply end and was confused that it was still going. Steve then explained that man is not perfect and that she couldn't help everyone.
I also think part of the explanation goes back to Batman V Superman.

On the comic book movie scale for 2017, it was better than Guardians 2. I still had a lot of fun with Guardians 2, but Wonder Woman tops it.

I found it to be much brighter--I am not a comic book person (weird, I know, but I grew up with BATMAN 1966 and SUPERFRIENDS, so that is where my DC love came from), but the scenes on her home island are gorgeous--the color of the water--the sand--just beautiful; likewise, the scenes inside the cave with glowing pools are great--and I saw it in 3D with the tinted glasses. I am wishing now that I had waited until this weekend and seen it in IMAX, but that may have been overkill. I usually save IMAX for productions like KONG: SKULL ISLAND and GODZILLA due to the massive size of the creatures.
