But if you want classic movies, or older titles, a reprint is the way to go. Sites that sell reprints such as MovieGoods, MoviePosterShop, PopCultureGraphics, all of whom are believed to the same dealer under multiple site names, I have heard and read numerous comments about how their reprints are blotchy and of poor quality. MoviePoster.com sells originals and reprints, not sure what the quality is of their reprints, I believe one of our fellow members, Zero Cool, can vouch more for them. You can try sites like Art.com, and others who sell reprints, some licensed, and of course, some who don't. Frame-wise, you can try Micheal's Arts and Crafts stores or Aaron Brothers Framing. They both tend to have coupons in the Sunday newspaper ad sections each week or every other week too. By the way everyone, this thread has reached 200 pages now. Congrats all! |

Again, as I mentioned in a PM, don't simply rely on eBay as the "one all" when it comes to movie posters. eBay is a haven for originals, reprints, bootlegs/counterfiets, not just for posters, but nearly every other collectible out there. eBay is not the all knowing place to sell, there are other options such as Amazon to consider. While there are legit poster dealers and private sellers on eBay, there are also people who simply get a poster from time to time from a theater to sell, there are people who work at a theater and sell, and there are those who are given posters to sell for friends but in most cases none of these people, with the exception of someone who knows the poster industry be it a poster dealer, or a collector who has been in it for awhile, who really know what they are doing. Again as I mentioned before, condition, description, and packaging are key, and so many don't know how to get those three aspects of it right. |

You may want to just focus on selling domestically, internationally is an entirely different can of worms per say, and can get very frustrating if you don't know what you are doing. Just remember when you package a poster up, always assume it will see abuse along it's way, because in most cases, a tube does. If you toss a poster loosely in a cheap tube, which is how theaters get their posters in, then it will get damaged by shifting from side to side. If the tube gets damaged the ripple effect will go through the tube and damage the poster. That is why you have to be one step ahead and assume the tube will be abused so package it up in a way to prevent it. Protect the ends of the poster, tape down any end caps, and use strong tubes. Personally I would recommend charging enough shipping/handling to cover delivery insurance too. Since you are new to this, you have to remember that some of the posters you should could get damaged due to poor packaging, no offense, but that is a fact. If your shipments are insured, you have some recourse, and you will learn from your mistakes over time, and you will get better and better at anticipating what needs to be done. That is the problem with eBay, so many people "assume" too much and simply tossing a poster in a tube and that's it, spells disaster. So be ready for customers saying "Hey man my poster is thrashed", hopefully you don't have that issue but it does happen, especially in the beginning. If you think one step ahead, and package up a poster how you would expect someone to package it up the way you would want it delivered, then you are on the right track. Delivery Confirmation is recommended for orders that you ship through the Postal Service, but insurance is importance, at least I feel it is. UPS Ground comes with $100 of insurance already added, additional insurance is extra but not much. Last edited by Kinsella5; 09-11-2012 at 08:03 PM. |

Well my posters arrived about an hour ago all safe and sound. The tubes they where in had the studios which they came from logo on them which is cool. There are some many to go through so it will take me a couple days to have them up for sale.... Here is a Harry Potter poster and Inception for example. Inception has a tiny tear on the top ..... I have 2 of the Harry Potter in excellent condition... I even got ones i did not know i was getting such as 2 Watchmen posters ...... I have 250 more coming in the next couple weeks as well.

That is a sweet zombieland poster. I am not sure what you're expecting to get for these posters though. That particular one on eBay seems to run between $25 (250938948774) and $125 (320607758884). A search of completed items appears to show no ds ones sold recently however.
I think you are going to have be pretty patient if you want top dollar for these posters, the competition seems to be pretty fierce on eBay. Sure there are other options for selling like posting here in the trading forum, but eBay has to be the best exposure and then if you are looking for top dollar I would suspect your buyers would be looking for a seller with a history of selling posters. I just think you should Measure your expectations, I don't think you will be getting rich too quick, it could take you years to move all those posters unless you consider selling them in lots. I wish I had 500 posters to sift through, that would be really cool. I'd probably keep one of everything and sell everything else ![]() |

![]() Any chance they might have shipped you a Resident Evil poster? From the first movie. It's only 10 years old. ![]() |

The first poster you listed is the Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 1/2 teaser advance. They actually were and still are quite popular with HP and non-HP collectors. It is a nice companion piece to the first HP film's 2nd advance style whereas that style had the kids in boats as they sailed towards Hogwarts, and this style is nearly the same perspective but with Hogwarts burning. Realistically in near-mint/mint condition double-sided it can fetch $50, maybe more.
The Inception style is the final style, they made three styles for Inception: the advance, the final, and the IMAX exclusive. The IMAX exclusive is very difficult to find, and I highly doubt you will have one in there since it was sent to theaters who have an IMAX screen. Wall-E is the domestic final style, it can fetch about $35-$50 if in near-mint/mint condition double-sided. Zombieland is the advance style, and depending on the right fan, can probably get you $50. Inglorious Bastards is the final style, all of the IB posters were difficult for dealers to obtain, even with the slight damage you should be able to get at least $25 for it. Most likely the damage occurred when it was shipped to the theater. |

Well their prices do tend to be on the high end, but yes, an original Aliens would set you back a good chunk of change no matter where you buy it from.

I'd love for the denizens of the Official Blu-ray.com Poster Thread™ to get first crack at some of those rather than them just sold off to the unwashed masses in the Trading Forum....
![]() I'd love that IB poster, that thing is awesome. |

MovieFanatic2010, Allforce brings up a good point, and is something you should consider doing. While it will take you a good long while to compile, make up a list of every title you have, and take a photo of it up close front and back. Look for any tears, ripples, wrinkles, etc and make note of it.
You probably will be able to sell some to people here which is easier than dealing with eBay, etc. It's a start and could generate some revenue for you. |

Very interested in seeing what you got and perhaps buying a few, MovieFanatic. Hope you got my PM. I've got some posters I want to sell also and I was thinking of going to eBay but Allforce has a better idea so I think I'll do that first.

Alright here are some more...... I have 4 of the X-men , 3 Water for Elephants , 4 Snow White 2, Hotel Trans. , 4 - Narnia.......
Kinsella5 you are right the tubes that the studios use are crap.... It's no wonder the posters get damaged.... It is going to take me forever to go through the first 250 posters.... I probably wont get to the next 250 until next month. I ordered some (100) Heavy Duty poster tubes so when i get those i will able to start shipping these out. I love that Water For Elephants poster..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Finally Captain America in my DIY LightBox ![]() |

You will get some business from the good people on this thread, but something you may want to do is find a poster that perhaps isn't in the best of shape and package it up in a tube that you are getting and mail it out to someone here as a "test run" to see if it holds up, or to see how your packaging is, etc. It's not a guarantee that it won't prevent damages, but if you find a certain way that works, stick with it.
Also, sounds like we may be seeing another Hobbit poster released sometime either late this month or in October. Hopefully it's not the final style already but a second advance. Very surprised that they held off until July to put the first poster out. It is going to be one of the biggest films this year and I would have thought we would have seen the first poster last holiday season, but then again that was the rumor I had heard, but clearly it didn't happen. |
