From the Pride & Prejudice (2005) Wikipedia page

Quote:
In December 2017, Netflix announced that a person from Chile watched Pride & Prejudice 278 times that year. It was later reported that the person was a 51-year-old woman, who declared herself "obsessed" with the film and saw Elizabeth Bennet as "a feminist icon".

I saw Top Gun: Maverick in theater eight times, that's the most for me.

But I also could! Know why? It was in theaters long enough!

Outside of Nolan movies, no other films are getting that kind of release window anymore. Crying shame.

But I never had tons of free time, I would go out on the weekend's to bars and clubs, but everything had to be pre planned accordingly. Now i have a fiance and a kid on the way, but i am genuinely curious? How do single people with no kids see a movie every month 20 times in a theater, it seems almost implausible... Like where is the time for reading, or walking or working out, or socializing? Im really confused

This is really the right question. I read novels. I watch TV. I play video games. I post here. I have pets. I work full time.
There's not enough time in life to do everything I want.

I remember someone posting in the Lost TV thread that they'd just finished the series for like the 7th time. Truly WTF, that's more than 600 hours. Have you watched all the other good shows available??

Same here. For me its the opposite to Blu, the more I love a film the more I want to keep it......special if that makes sense? I watch my absolute favorite films maybe once every two, three years. Each to their own but I just couldn't watch things on repeat like that, one because there is so much other stuff to watch and two by watching things more sparingly you will always discover new stuff in them. The excitement of watching your favorite films must be depleted somewhat by watching them over and over in such a short time frame?

Also these folk that go to see films that many times. We are talking about a single movie. So they spend like 30-40 hours in a theatre for one movie and then whatever else on top for all the other films they see. No wonder they have so much money, they are never home. Their bills much be zero.

You already know what kind of pop theaters would have, and despite people/articles wanting to spoil everything today, there would still be enough other folks egging on their friends to "absolutely see it in theater" without revealing this at all. Sometimes a promise/tease of a big cameo is enough.

Hell, my sister just watched No Way Home for the first time last month, and had no idea Tobey and Andrew were in the movie. Some people are just unplugged from certain Internet and social media circles.

Maybe...but maybe not. It didn't help Tokyo Drift when that was projected to bomb and word got out that you needed to stay until the end credits.

It probably would have helped opening weekend no doubt but after doubtful.

I watched The Two Towers 11 times at the cinema but that was over about 3 months and it cost me about Ł2 each time.

Regardless, the MCU has already made close to $10b just since 2021. Every studio in Hollywood would kill for a franchise that made those kinds of numbers during this downturn.
Having a large franchise were everything is on offer at a single streaming outlet does I suspect make this more likely to happen, some random blockbusters most people will not really be aware of when and were it will be on offer for streaming but pretty much everyone will know MCU films end up on Disney+ for free in 3-4 months.

I suspect Disney would still prefer the cinema business but the streaming business maybe worth more in this case than a lot of other blockbusters.

Not much.
Even if they teased Doom and showed his face, the film wasn't pulling in the interest.
The film itself was good and it still didn't pull enough people because the marketing was a failure.

Tokyo Drift was going straight to video. But when executives at Universal saw the finished film they said wow with no stars this is really good with admiration for director Justin Lin.

Vin Diesel's career was in the dumper and he was no longer so high and mighty after the first F&F film so they approached him with returning to the series.

So that ending was tacked on because Universal had already decided to re-start the series with Vin. Universal at the time was desperately searching for a franchise to exploit.

Universal didn't care if people saw the end of Tokyo Drift, they knew the word would get out and they could build on that cameo for the next Fast & Furious movie.

When I saw Tokyo Drift at a screening I though it was a great film way better than the second film.

I would agree that the marketing was horrendous. It was everywhere, but so redundant. I had seen the trailer so much (It was attached to everything) that my enthusiasm for seeing the actual film was starting to wane.

Oh no! I watched F4 two more times today, my total is now at 15!

Can I be sentenced to watch F4 another 15 times? Surely, then, I will repent!

How amazing is this movie that I am still discovering new things in there that somehow I had missed or didn’t pay attention to before? The movie is just packed with lots of tiny details for the fans and there’s no way to catch all of them with just one viewing.

Any day now, I will wake up speaking Zenn-Lavian….

Hidden Easter egg of The Watcher.

Also, finally caught the marquee title that mentions the fungi. I knew it was there somewhere, because there were screenshots floating around, but I always kept looking at the actors during that scene.

If box office reporting was only ever reported as 'tickets sold' the narratives for success and failure would be very different.

Come on, BB! You are slacking.

You have to pump those numbers up.
