I'm just watching this in HD on my panny plasma and it's such a beautiful looking show. 4 million dollars an episode apparently. A wonderful recreation of the era. Yet how many people were watching this on a 51cm CRT back in 2003? This show would've been a hit 10 years later. It'd be so much less expensive to make this show now with what CGI can accomplish. I doubt there'll ever be any sort of continuation of this show but I'd love to see another depression era series about a travelling carnival.

I'd love to see Carnivale on blu-ray. No reason it shouldn't be already.

Well, there's a huge reason: cost vs profit. I'm hoping it'll come out someday, but it wasn't a huge hit, is incomplete (only 2 seasons of the proposed 6), and really wouldn't make HBO that much money for the effort, sadly.

But it appears to be a deeper problem.
I looks like HBO is denying Carnivale existed after they pulled the plug and the DVDs didn't sell well.

I wonder why that is.

The show is already finished in HD so I can't really understand why Carnivale wasn't released shortly after Deadwood and Rome in 2013.

Or after The Sopranos in 2014 and The Wire in 2015.

Default Carnivāle: The Complete Series

Holy thread resurrection Batman! Just couldn't help myself. Had to be done. Got tired of waiting for an actual Blu-ray release of this. Was not about to spin my DVD's around again. Purchased the HD streams authoring each season to Blu-ray. The file sizes were quite healthy. Ended up going with 6 episodes per disc.

And here's a little eye candy for everyone, screenshots of the Blu-ray menus I worked up. Nothing fancy. Just a simple Top Menu for title (episode) selection. Included below are links to my online profiles for each season as well, the "Overview" section of each profile including an "Episode List" and "Episode Guide" with images.

Never say never. Titles have a habit of being released on Blu-ray for the first time within 6 months of me rolling my own. Everyone might as well thank me now.

I've been holding out for this one. Really liked the series. It's a shame it hasn't come to pass.

With the release of "Sex and the City" on Blu-ray I have more hope that "Carnivale" will follow.
