Default Carnivale, Deadwood and Rome?

I have these on DVD. Anyone else watch these shows when they were on?

I think they would make fantastic BDs, the way they were shot, the colors, the sets and costumes...I wish they never ended.

HBO has been very hush hush about thier future releases. I would hope that they get at least Band of Brothers out this year. I would love to see ROME as well.

Rome would look incredible on Blu-ray. I really wish they would've come up with the money to do a third season.

I am right now in the middle of watching Deadwood on DVD for the first time. I am currently half way through season 2 and I wish that it was still on! This show is amazing and I would buy it on Blu in a heartbeat. Heartbeat!

Deadwood may have been my favorite. There is SO much brewing under the surface. The complexity of the lead characters is fantastic.

Plus it has the highest FPM of all television history. Dohhhh

The problem with these 3 shows is they weren't that popular when they were on. I'd guess HBO would choose to put all the seasons of the Sopranos on Blu before they'd get to these shows.

i dont think money was issue, the set caught on fire and they lost most of props thats why they cancelled third season. That what i had heard from rome forum.

with the set was on fire, they should use some of burnt props for Nero reign. He set rome on fire.

I spoke with an associate who works @ HBO a few weeks back and was told there are no plans to bring ROME to Blu-ray this year.

Rome & Deadwood are among my favorite all-time TV programs, they are so expertly crafted. I'm afraid to hear what they might cost on blu, those DVD sets were expensive!

Deadwood was one of HBO's highest rated shows. They cut it because they couldn't justify the amount the show cost. It didn't lose money for them but Rome was a major flop and they had already greenlit a second season. Supposedly HBO is going to eventually make 2 deadwood movies on the network, but its been a year since I've heard any news about that.

Yes yes, the casting was genius. I loved the choices for the preacher and "Swegen".....but then, they were all perfect.

Everything I heard was that there were no plans for a season 3 as season 1 cost so much they were even thinking of not making a season 2. But HBO relented and okayed season 2. But then right after season 1 finished I remember reading that season 2 would be it. But the definite, announce decision for no more after season 2 was made before it was finished filming and that fire took place after season 2 was already in the can.

I am dying for Deadwood and Band of Brothers out on blu-ray. I wish HBO would get some more releases out in general though. Deadwood would sell well enough for a modest profit at least and BoB would probably be a big hit since I've heard so many people asking for it. That is unless HBO decides to charge like $200.00 or more for it which I could see them doing, which is outrageous as it would most likely be all pure profit since it is a mini-series that was paid for about 8 years or so ago. They don't need to price it that high. $99.00 would be a perfect price for it to be a big seller (since online you could probably get it for around $75.00-$80.00 then).

The thing with HBO is is that all of thier material are series. Series in general take awhile to master, author, and then replicate. I would assume that band of brothers will see release this year. Some kind of statement from them would be nice. I dont care about dates, i just kinda want to know what they have up thier sleeve. Hopefully something other than the sopranos

Not to mention the abundance of poetry in the prose of the common folk in the town. Swearengen is the local Shakespeare, Mr Wu certainly has a way with words as well.

Shame about Wild Bill though. I never did understand why it happened the way it did.
