I was disappointed. Had some funny moments but noowhere near the original. To me they tried too hard to shock you in this.

LeAnn and I watched the movie Saturday. It had some funny parts, but it's not compared to the 1st movie. It wasn't disappointing,
[Show spoiler]but it felt as if they wanted to repeat the 1st movie.

I have it 3 Stars, but I'll still get it on BD when it releases.

To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the first Hangover movie. I remember enjoying it but couldnt help but feel it was very undeserving of all the attention it received...very overhyped. I have friends tell me they can watch that movie over and over and always laugh at it and i often wonder why or how they find it SO different from any other movie of the sort.

Id rate the first film a 6 or 7 out of 10, mainly because it offers some laughs but its not the hilarious roller coaster ride of comedy excellence people make it out to be. An above average comedy in nearly every way.

Anyway, that being said I'd rate The Hangover Part II a 3 out of 10. It is basically the first film with same situations in a different location. As i felt the first movie tried hard for its laughs The Hangover Part II tries even harder and succeeds even less IMO. I found its jokes and gags to be...well...lame, like they were trying to beat us over going from one extreme to another. Oh well...now that they have the formula down for these fims it wouldnt surprise me if The Hangover Part III hits the express lane and comes out next summer instead of later.

Default The Hangover 2 script "almost finished"

Source: Hollywood Insider

Quote:
Just as the time-honored treatment for a hangover is some hair of the dog, in Hollywood the time-honored way to follow a huge hit like The Hangover is to dive straight into a sequel. The staggering success of this summer’s Vegas-bachelor-party-gone-awry comedy, which took in $277 million to become the highest-grossing R-rated comedy ever, may have surprised the movie industry, but director Todd Phillips tells EW that, even while the film was shooting, he was already toying with an idea for a possible sequel. “You always have those days when you say, ‘If we did another one, wouldn’t it be funny if…?’ ” Phillips says. “Then once the movie tested so well, Warner Bros. came to me even before it was released and said, ‘Let’s do another one.’ “ Phillips, who’s currently shooting the road-movie comedy Due Date, with Robert Downey Jr. and Hangover star Zach Galifianakis, says he’s midway through working on the script for the Hangover sequel. Though he’s keeping the plot under wraps for now, he promises The Hangover 2, which will reunite the trio of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Galifianakis, won’t simply rehash the stag-party-disaster formula of the first film. “What people loved about The Hangover was not Las Vegas or the bachelor party but these three characters,” Phillips says. “I think you can take those characters and put them in other situations, and you don’t need the sell of Vegas and a bachelor party and all that other stuff.” As long, of course, as those situations involve a whole lot of booze and maybe a roofie or two.

It was way too hyped up. It was on par with old school or dodgeball. It was funny but not something I'd care enough to watch again.

Default The Hangover 2: In Thailand?

Quote:
Ever since it was announced that there will be a sequel to director Todd Phillips’ surprise hit, The Hangover, people have been asking one very obvious question:

“What the hell would it be about?”

Obviously the first Hangover dealt with the mystery and consequences of one truly awesome bachelor party in Vegas. Kind of a once-in-a-lifetime thing, right?

Well, luckily, getting blackout wasted has become a sporting hobby for some in our society, so it’s conceivable that our (heroes?) from The Hangover might one day match the epic obliteration they experienced in the first film – but where to set such a stage?

How about Thailand? Because according to a ’source close to the film,’ that’s exactly where the sequel is headed.

Known for its beauty, adventure, bustling urban centers, gorgeous jungle countrysides and jaw-dropping ancient architecture – along with ladyboys, “ping-pong shows,” underground fighting rings, shots of cobra blood, delicious Pad Thai and a city overrun by monkeys – Thailand seems like an appropriate enough setting for the Hangover gang. That list of attractions I just laid out alone guarantees a movie filled with hilarity and raunch. I’m sure director Todd Phillips has even better stuff than that up is sleeve (or at the very least, all of that up his sleeve).

God… the more I think about it, the more I’m already cringing at just the THOUGHT of what this movie could be (shudders).

The Hangover 2 will reportedly follow the three main characters of Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) in their new locale. No word if Justin Bartha, who played bachelor Doug, will be along for the ride.

Latino Review actually got word a few months back that The Hangover 2 would be set in Thailand – from Zach Galifianakis himself:

Quote:
Galifianakis: Well, ‘The Hangover 2′ I think we’re going to Thailand. The problem with ‘Hangover 2′ is that we have to up what we did which is very difficult. So we get, I think, kind of kidnapped. It has nothing to do with the bachelor party. We’re definitely not doing that again but we do end up in an exotic location. That’s all I know. I want the character to be in really good shape. I told the director that. I said, ‘Can we surprise people? He takes his shirt off?’ He was like, ‘No. No one wants to see you in good shape.’ (Laughs)
A kidnapping plot? Will we see our guys sold into sex slavery? (The joke potential just keeps on growing.)

Right now The Hangover 2 is in the scripting stages, so consider this Thailand business a RUMOR until the final draft gets turned in. (Fingers crossed that it happens!)
