Haven't seen it yet (I'll probably TiVo a rerun so I can skip through the dull parts), but the news wire is all aflutter this morning about Kanye West. I enjoy his music, but think as an individual he's a racist, arrogant tool. Last night's classless behavior just reinforces that... I'm hesitant to say "opinion" because he keeps giving so many opportunities to prove it as fact.

It doesn't surprise me that he got up there to commend Beyonce--she's talented, but it's been well-publicized that she and her "camp" take songs from lesser-known artists and re-record them without license or financial compensation (where I grew up we called that "stealing").

That said--and I am in no way defending Kanye, obviously--the fact that Taylor Swift won "best of" anything is surprising. Her singing voice is mediocre and she lacks range. I guess "best video" is not representative of her vocal talent, so it fits.

Jeez... WTH has happened to the music industry in the last 10 years?

Taylor swift had a very nice performance that started in the subways below Radio City and involved her riding the subway to Radio City whilst singing live (you could tell it was not lip syncing.) Her vocal performance was good, and I was really impressed by the timing involved in the performance.

I'm no Lady Gaga fan, I don't hate her but have never been overly impressed by her either; but her performance of Paparazzi was unique and theatrical.

Pink did one of her arial rope acrobatic performances which never fail to impress.

Kanye West was the stain on the show last night. He once again showed what a completely classless person he can be when Taylor Swift was awarded the Best Female Video award. He went on stage, took the mic from her, and declared that Beyonce had made one of the "best videos of all time" with Single Ladies. Swift did not get to finish her acceptance speech and left the stage crying. Later in the show when Beyonce won Best Video of the Year, she recalled how winning her first VMA as a very young member of Destiny's Child was one of the most thrilling moments of her life. She invited Swift back up on stage to finish her acceptance speech.... where the crowd gave her a long standing ovation.
Threads merged.

Definitely right about Kanye, but I have got plenty of not so savoury views about that man which are better saved for private discussion...

Kanye West is the one of the biggest Douche Bags in the music industry. He always has some retarded outburst to say. Idiot! At least Beyonce gave her a chance to finish her speech when Beyonce got here award I thought that was big of her.

Normally I wouldn't care but it usually has a bunch of really good WTF?!? moments. And this year isn't any different.

First off, it started with a touching speech by Madonna and a great tribute/performance by Janet for her brother Michael Jackson.

Now...onto wierdness....

Russell Brand is hosting again....expect everything out of his mouth to be unfunny and inappropriate.

Taylor Swift wins best Female Video and during her acceptance speech, she gets interupted by Kanye West saying Beyonce should have won instead.

Then there was Lady Gaga's performance.....which was.....bloody?
Kayne West is the biggest ****head on the planet. As for Lady Gaga she went with Kermit The Frog as a date. MTV desperate for ratings?!
