Well, Chuck has a blu release because it's one of the best shows on tv, so that explains that one

Except ratings suck and it was about to be canceled. When all these other shows get high as hell ratings and are always in the top 10 and have a huge fan base.

There really isn't a good reason why many shows haven't jumped to blu. Took awhile for even Lost to finally start releasing blu versions. Most shows will eventually get that treatment.

Yeah, I'm not sure why those shows get Blu releases. Sure they do have a fanbase but shows like Monk and House I'm surprised haven't gotten it. Especially House. Psych, eh not so much, but I do see a fanbase there but I don't like that show personally. There's definitely a lot of shows that deserve a Blu release, that have more of an audience than other shows.

As for Lost, I just bought the first season and it's still $48+ in stores/online. If it's going on season 5 with DVD/Blu-ray why is it still so much money?

I think as we see the price of Blu come down we'll see more tv shows. At the moment I think the reason that we don't see them is becuase the average joe non afficinado viewer doesn't want to pay 60 bucks for a season of a show.

Shure would like to see CSI Miami seasons 5 and on in Blu-ray. Seems like they would not require too much work since FotoKem did the HP prep.

I just found out (supposedly) that It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 5 is coming to Blu-ray. So Amazon says, no pre-orders up yet obviously since it just started. Hopefully this is true.

have you even WATCHEd either of those? Both are NOT stupid. Chuck has excellent characters and comedy, where as Dollhouse is profoundly well written.

Thats said, I would LOVE to have house, Psych and Castle on Blu!

I have to agree. Chuck is my favorite show and Dollhouse has gotten to the point where it's quite enjoyable on a regular basis. They may not get as high ratings as some that haven't gotten a release, but a release on BD helps to try to get more viewers and the two shows do have a sizeable fanbase that don't get counted in the ratings.

Anyways, the show I want the most on Blu-Ray is Alias. I would buy it in a heartbeat if they ever put it out.

I've noticed that while previous seasons where shot 4:3, the new season is being broadcast in full 16:9. Looks fantastic, so it would make sense they made the change in filming ratio to accommodate a release on Blu. Hope so.

Good to find out. I noticed it looked different just from a preview On Demand. Watched some episodes from the first season recently and it looks really bad. But I also watched on my computer.

I don't know anything about how shows are shot (4:3, 16:9) so if it was 4:3 could they clear up the picture enough to have it come to Blu-ray?

I still don't understand the reasoning to not include Californication or House in Blu. That logic makes no sense to me.

Californication- Both the show and the Actor David Duchovny was nominated for Golden Globe awards which David won for in Season 1. Season 2 was a hit as well having 937,000 viewers for the finale. Despite the fact that it's televised in HD...the show was the leader over Showtimes show Dexter as well. Yet Dexter is out in Blu....can anyone explain this? Don't get me wrong...I love Dexter too...all I'm saying is that Californication should be in Blu..it's a "No Brainer".

And House....well...Need I say more? And if you don't know-please refer to this info I pulled from Wiki:
Quote:
House is critically acclaimed and has high viewership ratings. It was among the top ten rated shows in the United States from its second through its fourth season; in the 2008–09 season, it fell to nineteenth overall. Distributed to 66 countries, House was the most watched television program in the world in 2008. The show has received several awards, including a Peabody Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and three Primetime Emmy Awards.

I'd buy every season of Buffy and Angel, and if they really worked the video/audio quality and remastered effects I'd pay up to Star Trek level prices for each season or the set. I'd also buy Alias on BD, mostly for the first two seasons. I really want Supernatural seasons 1 and 2 on BD, I have 3 and 4. I won't buy DVDs anymore, if it isn't worth putting on BD then I don't need to own it.

Chuck is one of the best shows on television right now, it's not a procedural and thus not a hit like House, Castle, CSI, etc. I don't know how it does in ratings compared to cable shows like Psych and Monk.

Jericho deserves a Blu release. Such a great show.

I'll agree with that. I never saw that on television but I caught it on NetFlix. Great show, was worried it'd leave me high and dry but they wrapped things up great in Season 2. Not entirely, but as far as the town of Jericho goes. A TV movie (ala Razor) woulda been nice to finish it all out but you take what you can get.

Perhaps that's because there are over 5,500 episodes? Just a thought...
