Can't blame Apple for that one. The remaining Beatles don't want "Let it Be" to ever be released, which is why it has disappeared from all home media.

What happened with this one? I know it was released on HD-DVD but why not on blu-ray?

I think most of the ones I thought of have been covered, but if they're not going to put any effort into restoring them for BD, then I won't buy them.

Some others:

Buster Keaton stuff (or at least just The General)
It's A Wonderful Life
The Big Sleep

Carl T Dreyer and FW Murnau's ("Sunrise" has already been released in the uk and it looks fabulous), Fritz Lang's, "Maltese Falcon", "In a Lonely Place", "Kiss me Deadly", Billy Wilder's, Otto Preminger's, Orson Welles', Michelangelo Antonioni's, Federico Fellini's - the list goes on and on and on...

I would love to see the sound of music, but I am guessing it will arrive in a huge pricey UCE boxset like Oz.

I suppose it's my fault, I should have clarified that the movie 'classics' I'm talking about are from the 70's and further back. Kind of like Criterion Films.

I am shocked, yes shocked, that noone has mentioned Wings (1927)!

To add my full two cents, I'd also have to mention the Howard Hawks original version of The Dawn Patrol (1930) with Douglas Fairbanks.

Neither title has ever made it on to DVD, and I simply refuse to understand why!

I'd also like to add
The Wolf Man (1941)
The Mummy (1932)
The Phantom of the Opera (1925)
The Fly (1958)
The Black Cat (1934)

I'd like to see Gigot (Jackie Gleason 1962)...

...but I doubt it'll ever happen.
