And any tips you have on setting it up correctly. Gonna copy and paste my post from AVS forums.

I finally got my wires ran and my stuff hooked up today, its too late tonite to run audyssey so I am gonna do it tommorow. I have a few questions.

First off, I ordered Denon 1610 receiver, TSC LCR3 package for fronts, TSC p6 bookshelf speakers for surrounds and a TSC ASW-10 sub.

My first and main question is this, I have the sub connected via "option 2" in the instructions that came with the sub, which is one cable going from the sub out on the receiver to the left line in on the sub. It tells me to start with Sub on of course, 12 o clock volume, phase 0 and Crossover Frequency at 150hz, which is max on the sub. I find a little down in the instructions it says that if I have the sub connected via Option 2, which I do to leave the crossover at its highest setting, so does that sound right? I will leave it at 150hz and not change that at all? Also should I leave the sub on Auto as opposed to on? Will that save power when its not in use?

My other questions is about the mic, I do not have a tripod, do I really need one? Can I mount the mic on a stick about ear height and hold the stick while I am doing the testing?

Thanks.
Setting the crossover dial all the way up is correct. You control the speakers' crossovers in the receiver. You want to disengage the crossover on the back of the subwoofer.

It is generally not a good idea to hold an SPL meter or a calibration microphone by hand. The human body may interact with the readings. Setting it on a tripod, stick, or highchair is ok. Make sure the calibration microphone is pointing upward toward the ceiling.

Also, it is a good idea to read A Guide to Bass Management.

Ok so, I found a tripod and ran audissey today, I am so confused heh. I followed an audessey guide I found on AVS forums, linked from Batpigs denon page, anyways here is what audyssey set everything at.

It set front, center and surrounds to small.
It says
Channel Level Check
Front L: -1.5db
Center: -3.5db
Front R: -1.5db
Surround R: -4.5db
Surround L: -5.0db
Subwoofer: -8.5db

Crossover Freq. Check
Front: 60Hz
Center: 80Hz
Surround: 40Hz

Ok so, The LCR3 Package from TSC that I have for fronts/center are all the same speaker, the specs say.
Frequency Response 65 Hz – 20 kHz +
Crossover Frequency 3.2kHz
Impedance in Ohms 8
Power handling (watts) 10-100
Sensitivity 89 dB
So Frequency Responce 65hz-20 khz, I see the audyssey has it set at 60 Hz for the fronts, but from the specs 65hz is as low as it should be able to go?

The surrounds are the P6 from tsc, and here are the specs.
Frequency Response 60 Hz – 20 kHz +
Crossover Frequency 2.5kHz
Impedance in Ohms 8
Power handling (watts) 10-100
Sensitivity 89 dB
Same thing, the audyssey set it at 40hz, isnt that way too low?

I cant seem to find where the frequency for my sub is, but after watching a few tv shows it seems to me that not enough bass is being sent to the sub. The only thing I can seem to find is Surround Paramater it says LFE is 0db.

Also when I am watching television or whatever, what should I set the receiver on? Just MultEQ: Audyssey? I am so confused with cinema and music and all kinds of settings on this thing!!

Manually, raise the crossover frequency of all your speakers to 80Hz and set the LFE low pass filter to 120Hz. On the back of the sub, increase the level slightly. Also, make sure your subwoofer is in a corner about a foot away from the walls.

When you run Audyssey, you set the microphine at ear level, preferrably on a tripod. The microphone should face upward toward the ceiling. Depending on your receiver, you must place the microphone in 6 or 8 different positions and let Audyssey run test tones through the speakers each time you change the position of the microphone. If you do it for multiple positions, the program will evaluate your room enivoronment better and the final results will be more satisfactory.

I set the crossovers to 80Hz and the LFE to 120Hz. Sub in a corner is not possible right now, maybe later with a little moving around. Right now it is to the right of my front right speaker about 5 inches from the wall. Allready sounds better with the crossovers set to 80Hz though.

Audyssey, I found made the surround field seem to unnatural. I just set everything myself and couldn't be happier. Setting the crossover to 80hz is exactly what you want.

I think my settings are as follows:

FR: -1.0db
C: +0.5db
FL: -1.0db
SW: -0.5db
SR: +1.0db
SL: -1.5db

If you do use Audyssey, I would advise turning off the "Dynamic EQ". It made my system just sound boomy and muddled.
