I've never seen Enemies, A Love Story or The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, but I heard they were good. Has anyone seen else these two films?

Cook, Thief is a trip, although I count both it and Cinema Paradiso as 1990 films, since that's their US release date. But Paradiso is one of the best films of the decade for sure.

I feel the same way as retablo about that movie.

Cook, Thief is a trip, although I count both it and Cinema Paradiso as 1990 films, since that's their US release date. But Paradiso is one of the best films of the decade for sure.

Hey, I was desperate to pad out my list of favorites. I don't consider 1989 a good year for movies.
