+1 this is a very good horror/thriller in my eyes and as far as the blu transfer, well have to wait and see. There are some great 80's films transfers and even films made earlier than that so I dont see why they cant give us a good transfer. Got Em!!

That doesn't mean I don't like it, don't get me wrong. Maybe what I mean is after watching it for the first time in 15 years, I noticed that the mother and the brother/detective delivered some pretty cheesy lines. I do like this movie though. Hopefully the quality will be good. But I still probably wouldn't spend more than $10 on it.

Damn, this is cool news. Would much rather watch this again as opposed to even attempting to watch the new one.

I only saw Part 2 when I was little but I don't really remember anything except there was a wedding, I think? I'd rent this first. But I'd really love to get Part 2, just since I watched it when I was a kid.

You are right about the wedding, yeah, I enjoyed part 2 too, I hope part 2 comes out on Blu-Ray soon but it is still not better than the first though!

Wow, I that it would be a long time before we ever saw this on Blu when we only got a DVD release to coincide with the remake. Awesome news!

On another note, did they ever release Stepfather 3 on DVD anywhere?

Wow, I almost caved in and purchased this DVD a couple of weeks back, but something told me to hold off. This has been a long time coming, but I am definitely looking forward to it. I haven't seen this film in atleast 15 years, so I hope it's still as entertaining as it was before. I think it will be though...

I ordered it on axelmusic.com and now i regret it!
I heard that there is absolutely no additional gore included in the unrated version
I haven't seen the PG-13 cut yet either but i'm a fan of the old stepfather movies that was the reason i ordered it.
EDIT:
Just saw that this thread is about the original!
great news!
I hope the disc will be region free!

Yea, well i agree with you on that! Also wasnt aware that The Crazies was a remake. I guess I should start assuming most new movies are remakes at this point, kinda sad....

Jill Schoelen, one of my favorite scream queens. Of all her movies, I'm glad they put this on BD first and not Cutting Class or Popcorn.

Though I wouldn't mind that version of Phantom of the Opera where she played Christine and Robert Englund played the Phantom on BD too.

I'll get this as soon as all 3 parts come in a box.
I've got the German limited edition on DVD (all 3 in a box), which will do fine until then.

Talking Terry O'Quinn is awesome, the movie not so much.

Great acting job by Terry O' Quinn-lot's of evil looks and smiles (a la the MIB), but the movie itself was typical low budget 80's stuff. Still might buy it at some point as I am a huge Locke fan!
