It was a good film but the story was Dances with Wolves all over again. And whats more unbelievable is learning the ways of the Samurai in what? six months? Was entertaining though.

I think The Last Samurai movie is a very unique aspect in looking at a culture that, sadly, isn't practiced as much...I personally like it because it's so in-depth with the samurai culture and what they practiced before technology started taking over...I grow attached to movies and get you thinking of more than just what's on the screen and what their metaphors can mean

Blood Diamond in my opinion is his best film. Much more emotional as well and it was something different. It would be Zwick's best, had it been a bit more original.

Still a good movie.

While I agree that Blood Diamond is actually good. I think Glory is his masterpiece.

Glory's good and all but it tends to drag in parts and to me BD was more emotional, great cinematography and I loved the score. And masterpiece is a word thrown out way too often. Masterpieces are very rare.

Indeed they are. Some movies like Glory in example I think it would work out perfectly with dragging the story a bit. With others like God and Generals almost a five hour long movie its a bit too much.
