POLL: Best graphics on PS3

My default answer would be Uncharted 2 but I need to give Killzone 2 some love. The games a year old now and can still compete with any title on the market. Beautiful smoke and lighting, high texture detail, the best reload animations in gaming, along with the best death animations.

For me, it's God Of War 3, then Uncharted 2, then...

Motorstorm Pacific Rift.

No, i'm not a heretic, i just love the huge racing environments of Collosus Canyon and Razorback, including the lensflare effect early in the track.

From ones i've played it's got to be either Eternal Sonata or Valkyria Chronicles. Though most of my PS3 games are low budget titles so naturally the graphics don't look impressive and they're more focused on the story for the game and the gameplay so they just only just look good or pretty good.

It's very close with Uncharted 2 and GOW3. I'm going to go with U2 due to GOW3 forced perspective. While I believe GOW3 looks better, it's less demanding on the system because you can't look wherever you want. Technically Heavy Rain is in the same boat. It's graphics look the best but they also have to only render and small area so it's not as overall impressive as U2.


How did InFamous end up on this list? That game is ugly at best.

That is exactly how I feel. UC2 blew me away only to be outdone by GOWIII.

God Of War 3 is amazing but they could've done a tad better IMO. I chose Uncharted because it is more realistic to me and the direction of the game is fantastic!

GOWIII FTW. Its not a shock to see Infamous have no votes how did it even end up on this list? But no love for MGS thats just suprising.

It's a tough choice but I went with Uncharted 2 since I like their style of graphics. GOW3 looked amazing as well though and at times, FF13 had jaw-dropping graphics.

As Icemage noted, the MLB The Show series is right up there as well and maybe should be at the top (it really does look like a live broadcast at times) but it's not quite as varied as some of the others.

Also, I kind of agree with SonOfTorah on Motorstorm 2. It looks great as well and if it was more consistent, it would definitely be near the top. Some of the screenshots I've saved look amazing (photorealistic). It's just not as consistently amazing as U2 and GOW3 (imo).

I played Uncharted 2 and then GoW3 right after and overall I thought U2 had the slight edge. Both games look insanely good though

I chose Uncharted 2. For all those that say God of War III had better textures are smoking crack. Other than Kratos and the Titans, all the other gods just looked ok to me. And don't get me started on Hera, she looks like she came straight out of Ps2. Also to me alot of the environmental texture work in God of War III could have been better and is nowhere near the quality of Uncharted 2. I think the overall dark nature of GOW III is the only thing that saved its so so enviromental textures. I think the only thing I took away from GOW III other than the awesome gameplay, was the sheer scale of some of the boss fights and action scenes and the lighting. I'm not saying I dont think GOWIII looks good, its just not as good visually as I would have hoped.

Haven't played Killzone 2 or GOW 3, but of the others:

Best in game graphics: Uncharted 2
Best cut scene graphics: Final Fantasy XIII

I'm going with Heavy Rain. That game is pure awesomeness all the way through! Followed by Final Fantasy 13 then God of War 3.

I really love the way God of War 3 looks and it very very very close.... but I had to go with Uncharted 2.

If Gran Turismo was out i would say that, but for me its God of War3. Uncharted 2 looked cartoonish for me.

Uncharted 2, hands down. Unchartedrake's Fortune still the 2nd best looking game.

God of War 3 (played the demo, while very good looking not in the same league as Uncharted 2 or even the first Uncharted)
Final Fantasy XIII (have only watched videos, CGI looks great but when it comes to the "gameplay" it isn't in the same league
Heavy Rain (played the demo, not in the same league.. Kind of clunky and animations are stiff)
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
inFAMOUS (played demo, again good looking but shouldn't be listed as a choice)
Killzone 2 (Still the best FPS on any console hands down, very impressive!)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (pretty impressive but not amoung the best.

I agree with Motorstrom:Pacific Rift (and the original, IMO looks better in some aspects but no split screen) looking very impressive, still the best offroad racing games by far.

Some other mentions:
Ratchet & Clank:Tools of Destruction
Wipeout HD
Warhawk (massive environments with huge draw distances, tons going on!)


Bottom line PS3 = perfect match for gamers

I couldn't decide between Uncharted 2 or God of war 3..I went with GOW3 cause I just finished it and it sits fresh in my mind.
