I see, thanks for the addition. I think I'll stick with UJ-210 ATM. 225 is slot loaded, isn't it?

Panasonic slim drives that end in 0 are tray loaded and those that end in 5 will be slot loaded. I have the UJ-225 in my Dell XPS M2010 and it is indeed a slot loaded drive. I am sure there will be an equivalent UJ220 tray loading model that will show up as well.

Here is a link for the UJ-225 specs: (UJ-220 will be the same except for tray loading)

Here is a link for the UJ-215 specs: (UJ-210 will be the same except for tray loading)

These drives are not cheap at all!

UJ-225 is slot loaded. The UJ-220 is the new tray model with the same specs, but they seem to be next to impossible to find. I think OEM orders from Dell, Sony, and others are still taking all the drives that are produced.

just WANTED to say THANKS to everybody involving in helping me about this product . I have today purchased Panasonic UJ-210 BD-RE for GBP262.
(I feel sick after spending that amount - soon another spending on PS3 - £400)

I have a BD-MLT UJ210S which I fitted myself into my Dell XPS M1710 laptop, I have tested read and write of BD-R SL, BD-R DL, BD-RE SL and BD-RE DL and can verify all DO work and work fine.

I have successfully tested each of the four media types in a PS-3 playing BD movies and they work fine as long as you burn them with Nero using UDF V2.50

cheers

I got problem with finding UJ-220. I ended up buying UJ-210. Now ready to be installed to its permanent home, replacing that inferior drive, HD DVD

the difference is reading/writing speed, I believe

OMG OMG OMG... thanks.... I couldn't find one last week.... unfortunately, I plan to get it April 2008 (I am near broke now). I have asked the seller who sold me UJ-210 to let me know if he got one...

Now, about UJ-215, I found american site that sells it for $999 (discounted to $899), but I lost the link. If I find it, I'll let you know

Default Panasonic UJ-120 vs. UJ-220 For Sony Laptop

Looking for some help! I have a Sony FZ480E that had a UJ-220 Panasonic Blu Ray player in it. Its broken and I need to replace it. Not looking to pay the price for a UJ220 if the UJ120 will work. Can anyone let me know of any issues between the two are and if the 120 will work in my Sony? Thank you!
