Unfortunately loss of money will do more than giving them money, so do not support them.

Think about when you start making changes in financial decisions: when money is flowing good, or when it gets tight?

The best way to get paramount’s support back is to make them regret their decision, so by them losing sales.
If blu-ray was selling 2:1 over hd-dud, then they obviously assume you will go out now and buy a cheap hd-dud player to get their movies (that’s what hd-dud is betting on), but when paramount starts seeing a loss, stockholders will get nervous, and paramount will have to react the best way they can, buy proving another source of revenue (enter the return of blu-ray movies, for the 3rd time already in paramount’s history).
150 million will only get hd-dud so far with a studio so big, paramount will be back if there is money to be made, so don’t give in and buy hd-dud, and they will be back after Christmas.

I'm just glad that Disturbia was released before all of this. I guess I'll need to pick up Sahara, Sleepy Hollow, and perhaps Tomb Raider sooner than later. Just kind of disappointed that I won't be able to grab Next in September. Oh well.

I say don't buy any Paramount tiles. If you buy now your just sweetening their take. They took our money when we bought their titles and now its your not worthy to have our stuff. They don't care about us just the money so why care about them. Its just a movie, nothing more. If you go and buy a dud machine Microsoft wins. No one title is worth buying a lemon(Toshiba). Have some will power and just say no to Paramount. They will get the message. That payoff will not last them forever. Cash flow, every business needs this, and if nobody is buying then they will feel it even if its not huge, it still matters.

Your so called support, wont do nothing but given them more money, as they probably already sign a contract, the best thing to do is to not buy their product.

I really can't see supporting Paramount when they screwed us over like that. They know very well what they're doing and it's all about greed.

Buy their movies if you genuinely want them but please don't think any small sales spike will influence their decision. They no doubt have detailed sales reports and they know exactly what they are losing. The problem is the money they're taking is way more than the BR sales currently amount o.

Exclamation Disney and Sony deserve our purchases more

My feeling is that Sony and Disney have been going out of their way for us on Blu-ray.

I'd rather reward them with my hard-earned dollars than a turncoat.

I have to think hard about buying Warner titles since we have been short-changed in the past. Lately, they're doing a good job on BD.

I still say buy blu-ray, even if they're Paramount titles. When all is said and done and sales counts are taken at the end of the week, they're not going to tally it as:

(X # of Blu-ray titles sold) - (X # of Blu-ray Paramount titles sold)

If it's Blu-ray, BUY IT!

********ers....the lot of them...

I remember when they delayed Zodiac stating that they were coming out with a "special edition" Bluray, bullshit ass clowns...

This is pretty much a total slap in the face if you ask me. I can't believe paramount would be so ridiculously short sighted....

I pray to God that Bluray really takes off and becomes a huge mainstay in the market making hundreds of millions of dollars yearly for anyone involved...

That way the BDA can ban Paramount for the length of their HD-DVD exclusive agreement contract, and paramount can just sit back and eat shit for being the MS cock taking cheap hookers they really are....

If you want to look at this in a positive light however, it makes the decision to import Face/Off from Japan much easier.

Unlikely to happen now as long as Paramount, DreamWorks and Universal are HD DVD exclusive. We're probably looking at a dual format market. Something I don't think Sony wanted. If Fox and Disney go format neutral within the next year or two I think Blu-ray would be all but dead.

No 'Blades Of Glory' on Blu-ray next week. The contract they signed is suppose to begin with 'Blades Of Glory'. So, all of this time they have been letting everyone (even their own god damn PR employees) think that it was going to be released when, in all likelihood, they didn't even start pressing the movie onto Blu-ray discs AT ALL! How inconsiderate is that considering that it was obviously pre-ordered by the bundle across the U.S. and Canada (Amazon.ca shows it at #764 in DVD sales ranking and #15,600)!

I'm torn. I really wanted to get Shooter after renting it over the weekend. I think i'll wait and go out and support Warner or Disney by buying up some titles i only partially wanted.

Trickery and deception at play. That's too bad, was really looking forward to this one, but its not making me teeter to neutral, like I've been reading on here so much about, and neither is Transformers

I'd hedge my bets that you'll find this announcement really has been put together very quickly. For the amount of money (and god only knows what else they're getting in return for this) I'm sure any relatively tiny amount of money wasted on pressing the Blu-ray versions of the film don't matter one bit to them. Blades of Glory will just get shoved in a few giant crushers to stop you getting your hands on it thats all.

Instead of spending money on a Paramount title I could care less about, why not show support for Spielberg (instead of Paramount) by picking up Close Encounters?

...this sounds more logical.

Paramount made their beds, now let them rest in it...dont tuck em in!
