Recent encouraging news with the release of the original King Kong later this year indicates that the executives at WB have announced they are committing themselves to restore their classic catalogue releases onto Blu-Ray and that their research has revealed Blu-Ray catalogue classics return their investment. That's a change of events. If we keep on buying restored classics on Blu the studios (at the very least WB) will keep on keeping on.

I'm all for more classics on Blu, but look on the bright side--it could certainly be worse! In my collection I have BDs of films from every decade starting with the '20s, and this at a time when Blu-ray is still a pretty niche market.
