Talking wellll......

......between ps3 and the blu-ray players.....probably 75+ maybe more .

work at best buy and we just got a shipment of 24 of the s300s about a week and a half ago and we have sold 7 of them (our largest single shipment of any of the players). and we are sold out of the samsung and panasonic players right now as well. sold 3 yesterday (80 gig, 60 gig, and s300).

Some people are going to start holding off though because of the paramount announcement but the customer that bought the s300 said "they can wait 18mths....its not that long".

I also printed fact sheets for all our Blu-ray players, and have posted Blu-ray stuff by most of the 1080P televisions. Our store only plays Blu-ray ads on all the TVs, nothing on HD-DVD, and the company has decided to drop HD-DVDs and sell only Blu-rays.

...it's Sears by the way.

FOR ALL SALES PEOPLE: :Let's continue supporting Blu at the front lines!!! (I just hoe that HD-DVD doesn't win cause then we'll have customers yelling at us, lol)

w0rd. Sears ftw. lol. Not as busy as other retailers... but hell commission = one sale i get paid more than people at bb or cc lol. Its nice. sell close to 10k in a day and ur going home with perhaps 200 - 300 bucks for the day.

On a second note. Cousin was over lsat night. He should be goin blu real soon. He has a great tv, a a/v system he spend over 6k on.. i dunno why he dont even know what it is.. but his kids love disney movies, and he loves watchin movies himself. he'll be blu soon.

but eh i dont think sears has decided to stop selling hd's. but i do know they dont sell very well at all. we still have all our copies of 300, tmnt etc. in blu-ray we got like world trade center left..

Nice fun thread. Good work.

I did talk to a couple of guys at work briefly, but not sure they are ready to bite. Talked to another work friend just a while ago. He really seemed impressed with the fact you can upgrade the firmware to fix the issues. A PS3 is now on his Christmas list.

Some of you know I am a BIG advocate of firmware upgrades. It's a great way of qwelling the qualms and fears they may have over BD player issues. "Firmware updates you can do yourself keep your player like new."

haven't had anyone to buy into blu-ray quite yet, HD isn't a big concern in my circle of friends and family, i only have 2 friends that even have an HDTV. but i have saved them and a couple other people from falling into the "HD-DVD is cheaper" trap, as far as i kow they've decided to wait it out a few more months or save up for a S300 or PS3 instead.
i guess you could say i haven't exactly convinced anyone that BD is the way to go, but i have convinved a few people that HD-DVD is the much riskier investment.

Four for me. Two of them already had PS3s, and only needed a "little" nudging. Talked the other two into making a commitment to blu... They actually have proffered their thanks...

I'm a Blu-Ray supporter, but I'm not going to tell anyone how to spend their own money. If someone asks my opinion on the matter, I just give them the facts--which, in the case of Blu-Ray, usually speak for themselves.

Thumbs up Five Co-Workers!

Since I bought my Blu-Ray player back in March of this year, I have done nothing but talk about how much I love Blu-Rays. I have even hosted three Blu-Ray lunches. I have about 5 people over each time during our lunch hour and show them 3 or 4 Blu-Ray movies and they let the Blu-Ray sell itself. Since then at least 5 of my co-workers have gotten into Blu-Rays. While I have a Samsung, all 5 of my co-workers bought PS3s. In fact one guy was lucky enough to get in on the secret sale at Wal-Mart and will soon have 15 Blu-Ray titles! Now I am not the lone voice in the night where I work, these 5 will spread the word out to others and on and on we go.

On a side note: my 25 yr old son was looking to get an HD-DVD attachment for his X-Box 360 for Christmas. But after going to a couple of stores with me shopping for Blu-Ray titles, he realized that Blu-Ray titles outnumbered the HD-DVD titles by a wide margin. He actually asked us to hold off and NOT to get the HD-DVD attachment. I have a feeling he will go Blu in 2008. Of course, every time he comes over to our house he can see my Blu-Ray collection growing. Wait till he sees what the Blu-Ray Spider-Man trilogy looks like (a Christmas gift I am not suppose to know about).

Go Blu

So far I got 3 of my friends to get a PS3, and I just got my boss at work convinced that blu is the future. So he said he'd probably pick one up very soon.

Lol, I love it when you already know what your gifts are going to be. I'm asked for a list of gift ideas every christmas, and this year I could only think of blu-ray titles that I didn't have yet or were upcoming... I am pretty sure I know what I'm getting for christmas.

Every single one of my friends/family who comes through to my house.

I showed it to my pops when he came through - took his breath away, and he's the one who got me into the movie experience anyway, now I've got the one-ups on him.

Although in all honesty I'm the only one I know with a High-Def player.

i've gotten several people to get ps3s including my parents. i've also gotten a few people who own ps3s to start getting blu rays. all it took was giving them a blu ray from the b1g1. i've even helped a few strangers while i've been out and about.

I wanted to yesterday! I was at future shop and the employee who worked there was talking to this couple, they were looking at a sony bravia. well anyways, it was showing some hockey channel through the cable and was CLEARLY not high def but his exact words were "This right here is in hi def, i can actually count the hairs on his head" I was ready to jump all over him and take those people and tell them everything they needed to know. They were like, why does this cartoon look better than that tv? he told them because its a cartoon on a BD player. I was pretty ticked, I regret not saying anything now

I convinced a buddy of mine who is going to buy a new big-screen HDTV, to purchase one of the Bravias that come with a bundled Blu-ray player. So score 1 for me!
