speculations so far. but knowing spidey's capability to pull in the crowds and money, their will be a fourth one. no director yet. and tobey definitely not coming back.

But I heard that about SM3 while SM3 was being made. And I even heard rumors of the Vulture for the villian of that film. According to another rumor, there wasn't gonna be a venom either.

Not saying that you're wrong, just that money can change minds and speculative stuff. I don't believe anything until it's confirmed, and confirmed to be confirmed.

its fine that you said that. But according to the BOX OFFICE MAGAZINE. Sam Raimi hasn't decided wether to do a fourth one. he said and i quote "I love spiderman, yet i don't see myself doing a 4th one. but i could be"

so from that statment, he says he isn't sure. and most likely he won't do a fourth one.

also in the same Box office magazine. Tobey said that he just had a child, and that he wouldn't do a 4th spidey movie, because he wants to be a father.

I see...I actually respect that alot. BUT, what if this project takes long enough to get started for him to be a father and then work(SM4) and then continue to be a father.

I'm not arguing, just can't help play Devil's Advocate sometimes. (But I think you can appreciate it based on your avatar, heheh)

So who would take over for him though? I think he was perfect for Peter Parker.

the talks in the magazine, mentioned that the original would be cast for spidey 1 movie, which is Jake Gyllenhaal. for some reason he couldn't do the first one. they tried to get him on board when tobey had the back problem for spidey 2, but then again tobey came back. but for the 4th one they definitely want him on board, since tobey said he would rather spend time raising his kid....

and as for the bad guys for spidey 4, AVI ARAD mentioned that they are aiming to have carnage and the lizard, to pave the way to ............WARNING A SPOILER, DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO...............................................M J'S DEATH.

the only thing i didnt like about spidey 3 is that they didnt mention Venom's name so its like you are supposed to assume thats Venom. What if i just started watching Spiderman from the movies and never seen the cartoon how would i know that was his name? Luckily i did know that was his name from watching the old cartoons

I heard about him during SM3 filming...Personally, I think the Tobester fits Peter Parker better, but if I have to go with a substitute, why not the original?! lol

So they're really condensing the plots of the various comic lines, huh?

I'm a HUGE fan of Carnage, but Idono if I can get on board with this. The script would really have to kick @$$!

I never really liked Tobey in the first place, that's why I could never really get into this Spiderman trilogy. Well, maybe with the exception of the second one. I would love for someone else to tackle the role, someone older.

they were planning to kill MJ this past spidey 3, but didn't. they wanted it to last for one more and spidey and different love interests. for example if you watched spidey 3, then you saw MJ becomes jealous, because spidey kissed another female. from there i am guessing that is where they want the fourth one to kick according to AVI ARAD. but like you said, they do need a good script for the fourth one to kick ass.

spiderman's character has to be based of a young aged personality. it would be kind of hard to pull it off with someone older. I wonder what they are going to do about it.

Tobey made a perfect spiderman because he has the looks for spiderman having someone else be spiderman might be kind of crappy unless they look like tobey

that was the big problem with superman returns. everyone got used to Christopher Reeve, it became very hard to accept Brandon Routh for a replacement. but he did do a good job.

honestly I thought Jake Gyllenhaal was the best to portray spidey from the first one. tobey, can't portray emotional reactions very well, but he did do a good job as spidey.

sure since spidey is mostly in his mask it wont matter to much just as long as whoever is the new spidey has the right voice but in the moments where spidey is peter parker we cant have like some weird looking guy to be spidey so it wont be easy to find a new one it will be like with the james bond movies some sucked some ruled

See, I think you're wrong about that. I truly believe that Brandon Routh was a perfect choice as Superman. He has some of the same qualities as Reeves had and than some, the only thing I believe he needs is a little more experience acting.
To me Tobey didn't fit the bill as Spidey because I don't think he has the looks that original comic book character had and he definitely doesn't have the build. He's too small, too skinny.

Worstpreviews.com reported about a month or two ago that RAmii had signed on for another spidy flick.

I too liked Routh as Superman/Kent. His voice is very much like Reeves'. He also appears to have studied the first set of movies to nail down many of Reeves' mannerisms. I did not like their Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane choices...but I (like another intelligent person here said) will try to remain optimistic.

As for Toby's expressions, or lack thereof, I agree with that...some times he seems like he's not into the movie, especially for SM3. But I still think he has a naturally Parkeresque way about him...Jake seems too confident, even when playing a nervous wreck. But his looks do fit the role, so we will just have to wait and see.

You're totally right about that girl playing Lois Lane. I wasn't buying it. She was pretty unbelievable, and had no elegance that the character requires whatsoever. I wish they would recast that role for the next installment.

One more thing, I really love Kevin Spacey as an actor, but he should have played Lex better as well. I was a bit disappointed with him too.
