OK, for good measure, I'll throw in some Daleks (Doctor Who style)

(A bunch of Daleks use their death rays on HD-DUD players)

Count me in too. I will wait to get Halloween and a few others til the 16th. After reading the thread regarding the new GI Joe movie, Paramount can lick the Sweat off my balls.

Looking at the release list for 10/16, the only one I would buy is Hollow Man. So I'll buy that and maybe pick up one or two other titles I haven't bought yet.

I am in - not sure which BDs I will get, but there are plenty I still dont have. I will be getting Transformers on DVD. I sure as hell wont buy an HD DVD player for 1 movie. Upconversion will be fine for me until Paramounted wakes up and comes back. (Jackasses!) they should change their name to Paramoron.

I'm in. I'll pick up something outside of my list of "must-have Blu-rays."

I think if you're holding off purchases and waiting until the buy-a-thon you're not really supporting the idea of the buy-a-thon. The buy-a-thons are days to get EXTRA Blu-rays, not the movies you would be picking up already, aka the "must-haves." It's the perfect time to go back and get Departed, Crank, Kung Fu Hustle, or any other film that you know you would like to have on Blu-ray, but haven't picked up yet.

We need to CONTINUOUSLY support Blu-ray, not stagger massive purchases between "designated buy-a-thons."

Let's see- We have a buy a Blu-ray day on Sept 18th, another on Oct 16th, and Blu-ray party day is Nov 2.

Are these buy a Blu-ray days going to be every month?

Frankly, it looks to me like next week should be pretty good for HD DVD again. It's not until October that the scales really swing to Blu-ray in releases, and that's the month Transformers comes out on HD DVD. That's a biggie, likely the biggest seller of that month.

By the end of the year, as it stands now, Blu-ray should be way ahead in the availability of first rate titles. I just wish Disney was pumping out more. And it really looks like most of the new BD players don't come out until next year. Maybe that's when the big push happens. By then, maybe the production problems will be resolved.

So true, but i've been buying over 10 per months for a year and a half, so I think I'm off the hook.

My release weeks are pretty booked up between now and then, but I will go above and beyond that week, just to help out a bit more!

Hm, I was only going to buy the Order of the Phoenix, but just to stick it to Paramount I'll preorder the entire box set. If I can't preorder it then I will buy something else though.

Try to get alot of Warner titles for the rest of the year, if the sales are good enough, then maybe they will drop HD DUD.

Paramount raped us and some of you are grabbing your ankles and asking for more. I for one am sickened by it. And for a couple of kiddie movies no less.

I'm in. I only have a handful of Blu-Rays now, so there's plenty to choose from. Of course, I'm working to buy at least 1 movie per week on average.

And nope, I won't buy Transformers on DVD. If they don't want my money (banning Blu), then I won't force them to take it.

I don't know what movies I'll buy that day, but I'll get 1-2 for sure.

Edit: I'm a big fan of V for Vendetta. It's on HD DVD only. So, I'll be doing my Blu-version of "Remember, remember the 5th of November."

-Hallowman

Plus I will also get these titles I've wanted for some time:

-Mission Impossible 1
-Mission Impossible 2
-ATL

5 to 1 in favor of Blu-ray disc here.
I reccomend we all buy an extra title or two that day just to offset the spike Transformers will give HDDVD.

Show your support, make your commitment for October 16th here,
anyone that is neutral or buying some HD DVD is doing that lil more to not helping Blu-Ray to win the format war.

Please dont try "make up" for anything, that speech is bs, seriously.

I chose Blu-ray and I will stick with it, not buying ANY HD DVD no matter how bad I want a particular movie.
