I don't read reviews, especially not from Gamespot as they are extremely biased. Not only the staff but the members. The whole site is bad.

I think people fell in love with the idea of being an owner of Halo, then they fell into the hype. I didn't think any of them were great (they were ok, but nothing I'd ever wait in line for, or pre-order. People are overly obsessed with this game). I'm looking forward to UT much more then Halo 3.

To me, the beta was nothing more than Halo 2's multiplayer with some new weapons and slightly better graphics. I wasn't impressed. The reviews are floating in like this game is shiznit, but I am skeptical. Thoughts?
that is what happen with XBOX360. Their failure rate is 30%. PlayStation 3 only less than 1 %. Wii = 0%

I've heard Halo has multiple disc?

I don't see why Halo 3 would be multiple disc when the campaign is 4-6 hours according to people/reviews. And I thought Gears was short. Granted that is much better than Halo:CE's approach which is a 4-6 hour cut and past game and the you get to go through it again backwards with the incredibly lame Flood.

2nd disc is probably some bonus stuff.

The game is 1 disc, the rest are bonus DVDs, and there's another bonus 360 disc in the legendary edition that has HD versions of the cutscenes of all 3 games. They totally cheated everyone though, making us think the helmet they included was wearable size

I think you and others are beginning to suffer from "pleasure overload". All the fantastic resolution, eye popping graphics and intense game play is availble with any favorite game you play. Eventually, a Crack addict needs the crack just for the fix, and less to be high. They just can't function without it, where as it was an occasional escape before.

Games are similar. The new "drug" is fun for a while and it all gets old sooner or later. If I was able to play the orignal DOOM during the golden arcade era of the 1980's, It would have been the better part of a decade before I stopped playing it. Why? Because there was nothing else like it! But it did give way to Duke Nukem 3D which gave way to other 3D shooter hits.

Pleasure overload... sooner or later even your favorite games will suck in comparison to the new thing. Even that can suck just from being too familiar. Might be time to crack open the old Monopoly box.

Talking HALO 3 ripping off of RFOM?

The review on Yahoo caught my eye and what stuck out to me is where it says:

Quote:
New weapons such as flamethrowers, spike grenades
weird, where did I see those before

Isn't that just a PC game?

I can totally imagine somebody passing me on the road in a subaru forester and saying "There goes Master Chief off to work this morning"

And here you are after work

Nah, I was totally joking. If that didn't happen to me I'd have my own copy of Halo 3 this week as well. It's a shame that so many have had to deal with that.

I have an original Xbox and Halo 1&2 were great games but after 11 360's (yes I am living proof the horror is real) I gave up. I am sure Halo 3 will be as good as the others but the marketing and hype behind the game earn it the scores it has recieved. If I still had a 360 I would have bought it but it's not going to make me buy another. Game takes 12 hours tops to beat, Gears of War takes 7 to beat and both of those got high 9's fro IGN Heavenly sword takes an average gamer 7 hours to beat and it's gets a 7 from IGN with them criticizing it for it's length. It's all marketing and smoke and mirrors and Microsoft is fantastic at it

Though it's what comes after Halo that MS should be worried about as Bungie said there will be no Halo 4 and that they have already started on a new idea.
