What are the chances that Echo Bridge strikes a new 1080p master for City of Angels with 5.1 surround? That's the only way they're getting my money. Otherwise, I'll stick with The Crow, and get Salvation when it's released by Lionsgate.

The crow is my favorite movie of all time. The second film was also pretty good. The third crow was ok. The fourth Crow with Furlong was garbage!!!!! I wish it was two and three being released.

It's okay. Mark Dacasos is awesome but if you want an untouched and perfect image of The Crow....stick with the first film.

The only film that mattered was the first one, the rest I didn't waste my time on because The Crow didn't need follow-up films, the original stood on it's own. I too am a big fan of The Crow, having owned original art from the book and a large number of original sketches by O' Barr and several others, but I just can't support anything that has nothing to do with the first film or the original mini-series in comic book form. The new Crow comic book series from IDW comes out today but I have already looked at it and wasn't impressed.

If anyone ever makes their way to Seattle, you can pay your respects if you would like to Brandon Lee (and his father Bruce Lee) by visiting their place of burial at Lake View Cemetery in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle.

what everyone tends to forget is that even in the comic books "The Crow" wasn't ALWAYS Eric Draven. The Crow as been different people in pretty much every other story. At one time James O'Barr wanted to do a female crow, the script was strickingly similiar to Kill Bill and the studios passed on it saying it would never work and like a year or so later Kill Bill came out.

Every movie follows someone else's journey as the crow. Hence why i still think the 3rd film was better than the 2nd, The first movie was too awesome for words, the fourth film was crap.

The TV series was good, but it was pretty much like the Incredible Hulk to an extent, didn't really work for me.

I would say it's 50/50. They are unpredictable now in terms of how they are getting their transfers from Filmyard Holdings/Miramax. We'll have a six film set with Darkness that's in a butchered and open matted 1.78:1 and then get an individual release about three months later and it's in it's original aspect ratio of 2.35:1.

There's a script online done by Rob Zombie for a Crow movie. It would have been his debut as a film director, but the film never happen for various reasons. I actually have the script, but i've yet to read it though.

Plus there was another Crow movie that was pitched that had Eminem and DMX as rappers who hated each other or something like that.

I'm glad those didn't get made, considering how House of a 1000 Corpses turned out, I do like the movie, but all of his flicks have the same kind of feel and I don't think it would fit the crow.

Luckily for Eminem he didn't do it, we see where DMX is now.

Seeing that Zombie butchered Halloween, thankfully his "vision" of The Crow was never made. Come up with something original, don't remake stuff that turns into complete garbage.

What you apparently tend to forget (or probably just didn't know in the first place) is that the original Crow comic was the only one that existed at the time of Brandon Lee's death and that the first Crow sequel comic (Dead Time, which featured a native American Crow killing Civil War deserters reincarnated as a biker gang a century later) was based on a rejected film sequel idea.

So yeah, there's literally nothing that validates the "rotating Crow" concept from a purely artistic standpoint. Had Lee lived there's absolutely no evidence to suggest Crow stories featuring other characters would have been written.

Lee was contracted for sequels and the plan was for him to reprise the role if the film was a success.

I kind of see your point, but at the same time, Eric's story was done after the first movie/comic. He had no reason to stick around. The "rotating Crow" makes more sense in terms of the mythos. You'd have a hard time selling me on the idea that of all people who have died, Eric Draven is the one person, ever, who was worthy of resurrection.

Yeah, Eminem and a bunch of other rappers were originally going to be in Saw II whenever it was first announced. I was like; "Holy Hell!" I don't mind Eminem perse, but having other rappers play main characters was kind of a turn off. I'm glad it didn't happen.

oh wow...this was one of the worst ideas i'v heard about since Bradley Cooper was going to play Eric Draven in the crow remake.

City of Angels is in 5.1! I picked this up in Walmart and can confirm both movies in 5.1 HD audio.

Do you know if the VQ is better than the standalone release?

It figures that a studio would package the worst entries in the series together, just to make a quick buck. "Salvation" tried hard to be a good story, but so much of the content ruined it. The first is a classic.

It's in 1080P now and it's the longer cut. This is the release to get it seems.
