My pawn shop has blu-rays for $7 each. The only problem is that there usually isn't anything worth paying for at that price. I've found Moneyball & 50/50 within a couple months of release but that's about it over the last year. I did manage to find a DVD/Blu combo of Lion King in DVD packaging for $2 which is probably the best deal I've ever found.

I live in Georgia if anyone is curious.

I have yet to check thrift stores but I have seen a good bit of them in my area while cruising for pawn shops. They are probably next on my list to check but the pawn shops have been keeping me busy and draining my wallet.

Plus thrift stores I feel like would have more dvds then blu-rays around here.

The best advise I can give anyone with Pawn shops asking to much for blu-rays is be nice and negotiate with them. They are priced to negotiate. If they want 7 say I cant do that much but at 5 I would buy this many and most of the time they will say fine.

The thing about pawn shops and blu-rays is they dont know if they are stolen so they buy them really cheap and want to get rid of them as fast as possible. So buy buying in bulk you are helping them move stock and avoid possibly having stolen property in their store. In my experience I only rarely pay what they ask for. If they say 3 or 4 dollars Im not going to Negotiate Im going to pull out my wallet and buy any blu-ray I want at that price but when they say more than 5 I always try and get them down lower.

Only one time have I straight up walked out without trying cause they wanted 10 a piece and there was nothing worth arguing over.

My pawn shop has blu-rays for $4 each. Not bad, especially if you find something good.

If anyone's in the Atlanta area or visiting the Atlanta area we should do a pawn shop roundup. I know of quite a few all with in 5 miles of each other.

I buy lots of stuff from pawn shops. Let's see, everything at 5 bucks:
Matrix Digibook
Drive
Battle LA
HP: Deathly Hallows 3-D
Man on a Ledge
Avatar with Slip
Tower Heist
Hangover with Slip
Ghostbusters With Slip

Very jealous of matrix and avatar. I want avatar just because it's visually awesome and I didn't hate the movie but I can't decide what version and how much to pay for it. If I saw it at a pawn shop I would buy it regardless of version.

I always negotiate and I've only paid more than 5 bucks twice - one for Hot Rod and the other for a Resident Evil Afterlife steelbook. Because of BB U&S, I won't pay 5 bucks anymore except for something really special. But yes, ALWAYS negotiate. My best hauls have included the LOTR Extended set and the TMNT in pizza box for 6 bucks a piece. I know that was a fluke, but there are some deals out there, but it does take time and diligence.

Geeeeeze man pizza box edition! And lotr? Was lotr bluray cause that's amazing if it is. And I've been searching them all for hot rod cause I want to sell it but none have had it sadly.

The best thing about pawn shops is they don't want to waste time pricing each movie so it's usually one price for any of them meaning when u find something awesome its the same stupid price as every other movie they have.

I just want to know what idiots are selling their very expensive steel books and digibook for 3 bucks or less to a pawn shop. Drugs probably have a lot to do with it.

Yeah you can find some great deals at some pawn shops. I try to visit my local pawn shops once a month. Craiglist is a good place to look to for deals in your area.

People in my area have terrible prices on Craigs list but the thing I like about Craigs list is people sell gift cards. U can get a 100 dollar gift card for 70 or less to walmart and best buy and target then your basically getting 30 dollars of free blu rays just have them meet you there to confirm the card is the legit amount

I found one on there today for movie stop that's 75 dollars and they want 50. I'm already going to movie stop tomorrow for their Halloween sale and I know I'm going to spend 50 so why not have them meet me there and get 25 free dollars more to spend lol.

9 seasons of South park for 40 dollars last week is one of my favorite hauls. Went from zero Seasons to 9 for next to nothing.

Yeah Craigslist is hit and miss and it depends on the area you live in or how far you are willing to travel.

Seconded, you ever go to Disc Replay? Not the best of prices, but have found some decent stuff in there from time to time.
