At least according to this guy who is having some absurd battle with Sony. If this is true it is definitely ridiculous. Apparently his PS3 was too dirty to fix/repair, definitely read this. Read the comments, almost all Sony haters.

I love all this Sony hate on there. This is the first problem I have ever heard of with the PS3. Meanwhile the Xbox 360 has a 30% fail rate and somehow Microsoft is the better company?

Wow dust voids your ps3 warranty... I guess everytime I don't use my ps3, i'll put it back in its box so dust won't get in!!!

I dust mine every 2 or 3 days.

I clean mine in the dish washer every other week, no dust at all...

Same I can't stand coming home finding that the PS3 has been on ALL DAY because my girl friend dusted and didnt notice.

Major huge B.S ever posted/commented with someone who definitely got a problem with sony. Even MS spent millions of dollars to fix the XBOX 360 issues. and that is coming from an evil corp. and sony won't even fix/replace a PS3 because of dusts!!!! It sounds like fuds to me. IT SOUNDS LIKE BS.

I don't blame Sony one bit for rejecting this guys PS3...its clearly been abused...I wouldn't do anything about it either!!!!

Dust is electronics #1 enemy! That thing is FILTHY. I almost think it is a joke..I have never seen anything expensive that dirty in my life.

I wouldn't doubt it if they proved this was planned event, sent in from a group behind a certain competing console. I wouldn't be at all surprised, either, if it was some kind of dust stress test conducted by a magazine or standalone with a slant, bent on making the PS3 look bad.

Perhaps the thing was purposefully put under tremendous stress, and it survived, making the original plan for the article a moot point.

Besides, it was only a few years back that anthrax scares were big news. Maybe the PS3 was operating in a cloud of anthrax? hahaha
