It's also funny how they list it as a "feature".

Even funnier if it's true, $50 each? Now we almost down to the price of one of their combo discs.

Toshiba, give it up.

No, I believe an HDMI cable is the only way.

Well on Paramounts website they still claim to be supporting Bluray.....of course we all know it's just they have not updated their website.

usually the most obvious answer is the correct one.....my guess is they just haven't updated their website for a while.

I believe that the drive is just a transport and is sending the data from the disc to the XBOX360, which is doing the decoding of VC-1, AVC/MPEG-4, MPEG-2, and/or audio.

but then how are they getting a 1080p picture at all? I was under the impression that only HDMI and Some Components can carry teh 1080p signal, so even if somebody had a 360 elite, and the hd dvd drive, it's not possible to get 1080p because they used USB to connect the drive to the Xbox?

Nevermind, i gotcha now

Survey's are pointless and in no way (usually) show the common public opinion. Especially when you don't know how the survey was conducted...

Actually, I'll leave this just as it is...a rumor. As I don't buy that Toshiba had sold wal-mart a2s for $50 each. That's like slitting your own wrists in terms of company suicide. I know they're despereate, but that desperate?

that rumor is more believeable than walmart taking a loss on players. wal mart rarely will take a loss on anything. especially a video format that is obviously going the way of DiVX. i don't know if it was 50 dollars, but i guareentee you that toshiba sold wal mart the players for under 98 dollars. what incentive does wal mart have to take losses with hd dvd players?
