Default Wal-Mart spreading FUD stats?

Look at what I read on Walmart's website about the HD-DVD add-on for the 360. And I quote:

"Amazingly stunning video and immersive surround sound audio with up to 6 times higher resolution than DVD.
Innovative interactive content enables PIP commentary, scene selection and menu access all while the movie is still playing!
Enjoy blockbuster HD DVD releases with over 150 titles available by Holiday 2006 from major movie studios Universal, Warner, Paramount and more.
Only HD DVD offers a 'combo' disc: DVD on one side allows playback on all your existing DVD players in your home or car.
3 out of 4 current or future HDTV owners prefer HD DVD over Blu-ray based on it's superior value.** "

I know this was a survey from 2006 but don't you think it's time to get their facts straight? People who read this are going to believe it's true.

You can read all about the biased survery here:

http://www.hd-dvd-news.com/archives/toshiba_survey.htm

Contact Walmart and provide them this information and maybe they'll update the page.

Um sounds like this was written before Blu-ray really took off last year and started dominating sales. They just haven't updated it an probably never will.

Now that Tosh includes all PS3s as a player, the raito is 13:1 in favor of Blu-Ray.

Poll was conducted July 2006, only a month after the first Blu-ray discs were available. No surprise that there weren't as many people in support of Blu-ray at the time.

Come on people it's walmart did you expect anything else from them? Somebody really needs to send them the latest figures, although I doubt they will listen.

There is someone posting on thier reviews that is going to make BR fans look bad though.
He was not truthful in his review and looking through his post is surely a BR fan. He is doing the same thing we accuse HD fan boys of doing on review sites . That is not good.

http://reviews.walmart.com/1336/f6f3...b6/profile.htm

Little obvious...

It only goes up to 1080i if they don't have a Xbox 360 with an HDMI port or a VGA connector (and a TV or monitor that can accept it). Most can't get 1080p out of it.

They were just reporting the survey given to th in 2006. I'm sure it's hard for them to keep ALL their web infomation current.

wow. FUDtastic.

The comment underneath goes right along with it, "And the PS3's laser will burn out faster... blah blah blah."

Your average consumer will actually believe that. So sick of this crap.

Problem is, they surely aren't making $$$ on $99 fire sale players.

actually the probably are. there were rumors flying around months ago that toshiba had sold walmart a bunch of a2s for a mere 50 dollars. if wal mart has 250k players in stock (which i think there is a good chance they do) and can make a 50 dollar profit of each one thats a very nice chunk of change they can make. wal mart really doesn't care about either side, they just sell what makes them more money, hence blu-ray having 2x as many discs at most stores.
