I have the single-disc editions of Alien and Aliens, in lieu of the Anthology set.

If the price is right and the supplements are right, I might double-dip. Alien is my favorite film of the franchise by a long mile, and, in fact, I think that it's really the only film in the franchise that matters. The idea of a more prestigious package for this one individual movie appeals to me.

Alien is one of my all time favourite films, but I can't see how this could add anything to what we already have on Blu unless you are easily dazzled by packaging. And that's something which has never enhanced my enjoyment of a film

I can't believe people are actually entertaining the idea that this is something good. We get another unnecessary reissue but not The Abyss or True Lies. Let's face it, these 2 aren't coming this year. But we have Alien to tide us over

I'll wait to see what's included. Never got the anthology. I only have the first two, because quite honestly I thought 3 and Resurrection were abysmal.

My favorite film, therefore it's a must-have even if the only thing different is the artwork. Can't get enough Alien in my life :]

The first two films are the real stars of the Anthology but I have been liking 'Assembly cut' or 2003 edition of Alien3 lately. Plus there is a TON of extras in the Anthology. It was a no brainer for me when it released and in reality it should be a no brainer when this set was $19.00.

I've already got the Anthology set, so I find it very unlikely this will contain anything else that would convince me to double-dip.

Yeah, I could throw the Resurrection disc away without batting an eyelash, but the Alien 3 second cut is very interesting at least, and a good movie at best. And the special features discs are the reason to buy the set over the individual releases.

It's been so cheap recently you might as well consider the Anthology pack an Alien SE anyway.

Depending on the price and how limited, I may actually go in on this...

I won't be surprised if we got some Alien cast reunion footage on this new release since most of the Nostromo crew reprised their roles in that upcoming "Alien: Isolation" game, as well as a grandiose tribute to the late H.R. Giger.

As for me potentially buying it, i'm probably going to pass since i'm happy with my copy of the Anthology box set (which itself was bought to upgrade my copy of the aging Quadrilogy DVD set).

Yep, need to hear about how any new content is compared to the price. Sure this won't be the case here, but my dream release would be a good HD presentation of the original color scheme. The color changes Scott made for the 25th anniversary were a step down aesthetically, IMO. You can see at least an approximation of what the original theatrical release looked like in the 1st edition DVD, though the PQ is lacking.

Thanks Billy! Was hoping there would be at least one other person besides me that understands the look of the film has been fundamentally altered on the Bd.

Change that back and I'd cough up $50 for a bare bones disc. The film means that much to me. Sans that, they could include another 50 hours of extras and I wouldn't pay $5 for it.

Just have to wait this out until Ridley Scott comes to his senses and changes all his films back, or another ten years when Fox needs to tout a 're-mastered' version as a selling point.

Now this definitely peaks my interest.

1. The 6 BD's from the boxed set.
2. The 3 BD's from Prometheus (2D, 3D, Extras)
3. Illustrated Story comic reprint
4. 4 original poster reprints
5. Giger booklet
6. 8 art cards

Some of us refused to buy the Anthology set due to the craptacularness of the last two movies, which we refuse to be in possession of. Therefore, we don't have the extras, other than the commentary.

They could definitely make this release worth owning for some by simply adding the extras to the disc. Some entirely new extras wouldn't hurt either. I doubt they improve the picture quality much though. And the artwork is very nice. I too would like this to be a digibook.
