I like 1 and 3 the best. They're the John McTiernan directed ones. They were fast, gritty and concise.

4 was good in a transporter 2 kind of way. The story was excellent, but the action was just a little artificial to me.

2, well... 1 is Vito, and 3 is Michael, 4 is Sonny, and 2 is Fredo. I think I've said that as nice as I can.

Gotta go with #1, just because it started it all!

I'd have to go with many here and say 1,4,3,2. 3 and 4 are pretty close for me. I love the first one because, while there are a lot of spectacular stunts, there aren't any that you can say "that would/could NEVER happen." Likely, no, but the whole thing is at least possible. 4 was great fun, and the F16 fits in the context of the movie, and it's not just there to be there, so while it's a little overblown, at least you can say, "ok, in that situation there would probably be some F16's around." 3 was pretty good as well, I love the dialog between Willis and Jackson. It does lose some steam, for me, toward the end. 2 . . . while I used to like 2 quite a bit, it's kinda "Eh" to me now. You know how after Die Hard everybody said ,"This movie is Die Hard on a bus, or in a swimming pool" or whatever? To me, Die Hard 2 feels like a rip off of its own material. McClane isn't a different person between 1 & 2, where he changes in all the other films, so it's just kind of the same old thing, but not as cool.

Tie between 1 and 4..... 1 is the CLASSIC.... and 4 is the WOW factor flick! Audio track will give your system a run for your money... I never thought a movie could spend sooo much time riding my sub - throughout! AWESOME Third one comes in close next, then ..... i could live without 2.

in order: 1, 4, 3, and 2.

I just finished watching LFoDH in my command center and the Mrs. complains about the subwoofer. To which I reply, that is exactly what I paid for.

2 Was horrible, Willis has even admitted this. 1 is by FAR the best. #3 was a funny and an honorable addition to the Die Hard series but it had an odd ending. #4 was good also, well made movie but not even close to the 1st one. Easy call....

Die Hard with a Vengence - Samuel Jackson was a great sidekick.
