as long as the PQ is just as good as current MPEG2 releases. IE Eight Below, Tears etc.

mmm.. Ghost in the Shell is a Japanese release, but if that's to be the "International Edition" for region A (America, Asia) they forgot to include subtitles, for example, for the 450 million Spanish speakers and 100 million Portuguese speakers in region A among others (but didn't forget the 10 million French ) on that Disc master.
Hopefully this won't become a trend, or will it be corrected when the disc is released this side of the Pacific?


mmm... if 37.5 Mbit (1000 base?) per second MPEG-2 is transparent to the master, that turns to be 31GB (1024 base) per 2 hour movie. If AVC is twice as efficient that means 16GB.

So either BD50s or AVC seems required..
