How much a BR Player would cost? Way more than 300 I can guarantee that!
There would be no BOGOs(booo), movies would be pricey to buy.

For all the complaining that is done against HD DVD, you have to thank it I think at this point. No HD DVD, no competition, no consumer perks!
Yeah the format war is great, isn't it? Without it, I would be able to buy Batman Begins on BD, and several other Paramount and Universal titles.

Hip hip hooray!

not to mention the number of false software sales due to confusion. I know my GF's step mom accounts for one of those, with top gun. They got a shiny new 32 inch samsung for their bedroom, a sammy upscaler and Top Gun on HD DVD for their "HD DVD player"....she was on the phone with samasung for an hour trying to figure out why it wasnt working.

In the end she just said forget it, she wont be spending that much money for movies AND a new player.......but my GF told her (ive taught her well) that when they do, Blu-ray is the only way to go.
