It seems to happen throughout on certaind BD's. During very dark scenes, with black backgrounds, it is not noticable. This is eating me up because I cannot come up with a good cause or explanation. Like I said before, my wife would never notice it unless I pointed it out to her. But it is obvious to me since I pay attention to those types of things.

Is it possible that it is due to my PS3 being vertical? If it is, why only certain movies? I'm confused.

What resolution does your tv display images in? Is it 1080i or 1080p? I do remember reports that some earlier HDTVs suffered from compatibility issues with the PS3. I would suggest checking the issues page on Sony's Playstation Web site.

Oh, and did you ever try a new HDMI cable? Also make sure they are connected securely. I know it's a silly thing to state, but I'm just speaking from experience.

The TV is 1080p and the PS3 is set to 1080p. I tried switching cables and it did not work. But even if it was one of these issues, why would it affect some BD's and not others?
