And I don't think it's been remastered, so not much to get enthusiastic about. Glad to stick with my MGM disc on this one.
I saw this on Shout Select Facebook page yesterday and I don't own Blu-ray yet and I thinking to get cheap MGM disc.

If this is the case, I just get the MGM disc which can be had quite affordably. This has never been one of my top Clint Eastwood films to must own.

If it was remaster and offered by a label other than Shout, I'd bite on this title.

I pre-ordered this one a while back.

I'm going to stick with, and, if my MGM disc ends up being the better of the two due to encoding, bitrate, etc., then I'll just stick them in a double-disc Amaray case with the Scream cover sleeve.

Yeah, nice of them to make that such an easy choice, wasn't it?

Yep. I have way too many titles on my wishlist coming out in the next few months to bother double-dipping on this and, to be fair, several of those are Shout titles (Murder by Death, Dracula POD, Single White Female, 8MM, The Jerk, plus I just bought Blue Dahlia) so it's not like I'm "Oh Shout sucks man".

I wouldn't say Shout sucks, but even on titles I would be interested in, they are pricing themselves out of my interest level. Stuff like "Piranha II" or "The Mangler" (or a "Hang 'em High" double dip) needs Kino or Warner Archive sale pricing.

I got The Blue Dahlia and will get Single White Female, but I'm not double dipping for titles that are 25-30 bucks unless I'm given a legit reason. Which isn't the case here.

I'm not hating on Shout since I'm getting The Glass Key and The Blue Dahlia. It's just that at this price range it doesn't do it for me since on top of it this isn't one of my favorite Eastwood films. As said if it was Kino sale prices then I probably bite the bullet but its all about prioritizing the most wanted for me.

With a new transfer, I'd definitely be all over this. Not Clint's best, but a solid Western that could look a lot better than the MGM release. Not into extras myself, so it's pass......

£23.37 @ Wow HD = lol

I paid a third of that for the MGM a few years back (and later sold it).

Shout are on a continual pisstake.

Any chance it'll get cheaper? The Plague Dogs is similarly priced, seems a bit steep but as long as it doesn't half in price on release day I'm fine with that.

It's not likely to get cheaper before release, that's Shout's new pricing policy. I have to assume the price on stuff like this or "Get Shorty" will drop so that retailers can get rid of stock, but no idea how long that will actually take.

My pre-order on this one was locked at $25 which honestly isn't that far off from what was typical Shout Collector's Edition pricing. It's the stuff that won't go below $30 like Get Shorty and Creepshow that upset people, I believe.

The problem here of course being that the "Collector's Edition" is two commentaries and the same old master.

Same old master, with a worse encode.

Who do Shout releases get priced so highly for no reason?
I already have the lackluster MGM disc which will be likely better encoded and even the 1.33 opened up Laserdisc with a better sounding mono track than the Blu-ray.

Even the Shout titles I want are so highly priced they go on my "one day when I stumble across them used" list.
