And you were totally disappointed weren't you?

Just admit it, the movie sucks.

While I'm okay with paying over $20 depending on the movie, I try to avoid Best Buy or Circuit City since I can usually get the same movie on Amazon or DeepDiscount for a lot less.

Also, Deep Discount opened up a physical store location last summer in my area (it's the only one in existence as far as I know). It was great for me because I had just gotten Blu-Ray and ordered a couple of discs from their website with the 20% sale that was going on at the time. Then the physical store opened a couple of weeks later, with everything being priced the same as the site, and they had a 20% off sale for the first week or two for their grand opening (so I got a few of my initial BD discs this way). Unfortunately shortly after opening the store, the in-store prices went up to more than their website prices, however I recently became aware that they will price match their own website if you mention it, so I've regained some respect for the store.

I did find it annoying, however, that when Deep Discount had it's 20% off sale back in November, if you wanted to get 20% off the website price, then you HAD to buy the item from the website with the coupon code. In the store, you could only either get 20% off of the in-store price, or price match the regular on-line price. That location lost a lot of business from me in favor of it's website on that one, considering all of the the movies/tv show boxed sets I was buying for myself and for others for Christmas. Their loss.

I refuse to pay $30 for a movie. That's just TOO high.

I paid 34.99 for Blade Runner for a five disc, but had 5 different versions. I think those releases are worth it!

Walmart is the place to go for the best B&M prices!! I noticed that catalog titles coming out under $20.00 where a lot of other stores will see them for $24.99. Walmart is running about $5 cheaper on all their BDs v. other stores.

I dont mind paying $25 or more for a BD. If its a new release and I want it now, I'll pay. Especially if it was a blockbuster type movie in the theaters.

Default prices

I understand that prices are high right now, just like when I bought dvd when it first came out. VHS was always a lot cheaper when DVD hit the stores. I just don't think a movie is worth $25+, for me at least. At that price range, i'll rent the dvd for $1 and watch it, if it isn't a movie that has a great audio track(aka chick flicks). I hope that BR studios continue the bogos and competitive pricing and eventually new releases are around the $15 mark like dvd is today. I also hope that the DVD kiosks that rent new release dvds for $1, start stocking blurays in them .

25.00 is my limit. I don't mind paying 20.00 for a blu-ray. Hell it cost that much to go see it with my gf, not counting popcorn/drinks.
If I know I want the movie and will watch it more than once 25.00 is no problem. I tend to watch movies more than once. I have like 500 dvds still.

Most I paid for a BD was for ROBOCOP ($34.99.) I couldn't find it anywhere else, and didnt think it was worth the time waiting for shipping just to save a couple bucks. If it's a "MUST" have for me... then I don't mind paying $25+

I buy them at BestBuy, period.
I prefer to have the movie "In Hand" and take it home within the hour and watch it.

Waiting for anything is nerve racking.
BDs are usually $24.99 - $29.99 - I'll live.

What's that Butters?

Seriously man, patience is the greatest thing in life. It keeps you from getting nerve racked. In life, all most people really have is time.

Name the film:

When I buy the movie I can watch it as many times as I want for 1. Second I can pause it to smoke or go the the bathroom without missing anything and the picture quality is better on my own TV. So if you think about it, your really getting alot better deal. IMHO.
I agree with you 100%

Ok guys. I don't like paying $25 dollars for a movie either, but just think of it this way. The person making that disc would like a raise every now and then. He has a family to support too. You like getting a raise every year? The company you work for has to cut people or make a profit. So, I'm just supporting the next person. I know I like to save money to, but just think if your boss said " well we are make you work 40 hours and pay your for 32." "Company is having some financial problems." You wouldn't like it.

This is just my 2 cents worth.

$30 to see a movie with kids screaming and no remote to turn up the volume or spend $30 take it home watch it at your convience. I agree there is a limit on a price I would pay, but I'm just looking at the big picture. Everyone is different. Thats why there is rich and poor people. I'm not the richest, but there is a price to be happy. Being blu makes me happy. So here is my $25 dollars.
