Default Shakira Blu-ray

Its absolutely outstanding. It is my new Blu-ray demo material when people come over. Those hips, that stomach and the sound. the uncompressed soundtrack is just outstanding, my only issue is when there is a duet they seem to completely kill the other person's mic so when they begin singing again the vocal seems to just appear in the soundscape. To me it should never sound like it left the soundscape.

The hips dont lie.

The video quality is superb, I see what HDD gave it a full 5 stars.
Looks amazing vivid colors and sharp as hell.

The audio quality really shines here!
The pure vocal tone you have to hear to believe.
You know your listening to lossless audio!

I highly highly recommend this Blu-ray version.
Weather you like Shakira or not it's reference quality.
I agree with you on this! Put the tracks on Spanish and turn it up. My wife is not a big fan, but she impressed (that is saying alot). David Gilmore is also very good, both to watch and listen to in the background. Both have wonderul sound!

Wouldn't mind a Deep Purple concert as well, but maybe with Ritchie playing.
The Gilmour disc is good? I like Floyd, more so after Roger Waters departed and I also dig Gilmour's first two solo discs though I wasn't overly impressed with my first listen to On an Island. The fact that he performs that album in its entireity is the only thing that's held me back on this one.

I miss John Lord more than Richie in Deep Purple. Morse is a significantly more talented musician than Blackmore <ducking>, his solo stuff and his work with the Dixie Dregs are both just outrageously cool. I've always hoped they'd put out a DVD of that tour they did a few years back with Satriani on guitar but I suppose that would offend the sensibilities of nearly all Deep Purple fans other than myself.

The Gilmour Blu-ray is good, I wasn't a big fan on On an Island either but it works better watching it performed then listening to the CD. And hearing Echoes done is great. Gilmour did a live DVD a few years ago called "In Concert" which I love a lot more just for the performance. There isn't any solo stuff on it and he does most of it on acoustic guitar except for the Comfortably Numb solos and the second half of Shine on You Crazy Diamond. But it is a much more intimate performance with a scaled down band.

I have not kept up with Deep Purple as I didn't really like anything after Perfect Strangers but do you mean they still perform without Lords or Blackmore? That is just wrong if they are.

I have no issue with Moore being a better musician, just a preference of styles. As far as Satriani has a few DVD's out there (G3, Stratch Tapes) so always possible that he gets a future release but maybe not with Purple.

FYI, as great as the Gilmour disc is, I felt cheated with Bowie singing Comfortably Numb. It was...ummm...grotesque.

Largely the same here: I loved Perfect Strangers but haven't been impressed with most of their output since then. Bananas which came out a couple of years ago is as close as they've come but still wasn't quite up to par.

They do tour and record without Lord & Blackmore these days but the live shows haven't suffered for their absence. Morse is outstanding, particularly on stage and it's tough to really complain about Don Airey on keyboards. The songwriting has suffered but the live clips I've seen from the past few years are just outstanding.

Personally I'm hoping for some classic rock on Blu. I'd be thrilled to see Sweet, Humble Pie, and the like but I suppose the only way I'll get those is if I track down the footage and remaster them myself.

How about "Secret World Live" or "Growing Up Live" from Peter Gabriel? I have the DVDs and the PQ and AQ are outstanding!

"GENESES: Live In Rome" is supposedly coming to Blu-Ray (along with standard DVD, and HD-DUD), either in Feb, or March.

It was filmed on their 2007 tour, and that is the big upcoming concert release I am really wanting.

The standard DVD version is 3 discs, with an impressive list of extras.

Default current concert blu rays:

AC-DC live at dinnington- excellent concert AUDIO 5 stars VIDEO 3.5 stars
Overall 5 stars (my favorite concert to date)

Dave Matthews/Tim Meadows - Another top notch Blu ray, if you love Dave this is for you. AUDIO 5 stars Video 4.5 stars
Overall 4.5 stars (If I was more of a Dave Matthews fan this would be 5 stars for sure)

The Last Waltz- If you are a fan of the following singers GET THIS BLU RAY! If not its worth a rental. (The Band, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters) AUDIO 4.5 stars Video 4 stars
Qverall 4.5 stars (this will depend on your love for the material of course)

I saw somone post the question "Why would you buy a concert blu ray?" But to be honest with you my movies collect dust while I pull out my concerts on a regular basis.

I'd also love to see Live at Pompeii. It kinda reminds me of the Last Waltz. Documentary/live concert/movie. The Last Waltz really impressed and I'd hope Pompeii could be just as impressive.

Sorry to interrupt all the celebration, but I also have possibly a stupid question. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to encoding and actually creating BDs. I know that the Pulse source is video (as opposed to film), if that makes sense. Apparently much of the delay in the DVD release was problems getting the video up to DVD standards (Pink Floyd standards which are very high). Would this dramatically reduce the PQ of this title on BD as opposed to what we are used to, or even prevent this title from showing up on BD? Again, it may seem like a dumb question to some, but I'm a HUGE Floyd fan and would love to see this title on BD.
