thanks fellas...

I did some looking around on the net and found this on avsforum...talks about engaging the +10db LFE by pressing two buttons simultaneously...

I did and it shows up +10db ...I bought my receiver about 6 months ago, so hopefully it has this firmware upgrade and maybe I just needed to engage it? (did you guys have to do this or was it already set when you took it in?)

will check it out tomorrow.
