If you have no desire to wall mount your television, get the 55" SONY SXRD (KDS-55A3000) if you can still find it. Shopping around should land you one for under $2000 after tax and shipping if applicable.

I would definately go with Samsung. If you want a big tv that is 1080p, get the new LED DLP. They come in 55in and 61 in. I have one of those and they have a contrast ratio just as good if not better then LCD or a plasma. Otherwise spend the money on a 42 in Pioneer Elite in the Magnolia department at Best Buy. Those are only 720p but look almost as good as the 1080p tvs. Those run about $2500. You can get the Samsungs for around that price as well. Sharp and Sony also have deals going on with there tvs right now when you purchase their product you get a free Blu-Ray player. They are on bestbuy.com or circuitcity.com.

"Congrats and good choice! Remember, plasmas generally take between 100-200 hours of use before they're "broken in". The picture quality on my plasmas looked great right out of the box, but after 125 hours or so the PQ got even better, with more of a "pop" in the colors."
Thanks for the atta-boy! Just watched Aviator... all I can say is damn!! Will run it thru some sports and misc movies in am... nite! |

PZ700u is an awesome set, better than my Sony w3000. At least with plasma you can whack the lights off and not kill your black level like most LCDs.
Great choice. |

The XBR4 is an amazing set!
![]() As for the motion enhancer setting it can get a bit weird (makes hair look a little freaky sometimes)while watching reg hi-def programming like sitcoms etc on the high setting but I have mine set to 'regular' for everything but sports and LOVE it. just don't forget to calibrate that thing. Mine looked great out of the box but looks astounding after finding some great settings in the official XBR thread here in the display forums ![]() Using the high setting while watching Casino Royale makes people gasp... "omg that picture is amazing! is that 3d"?! lol! love that reaction haha Last edited by davidxiphoid; 01-27-2008 at 10:32 PM. |
