Perhaps in a few generation, these sets will get better but I wouldn't buy this generation.

So in another world go with the Panasonic!

That is the current gen, which was also the FIRST gen led. The 2nd gen will b eout around the same time as the panny's next gen. Im gonna give em both a hard look.

I'd say two weeks before president's day weekend. Reason being is because of the price guarantee program @ most stores. At Best buy, they'll refund you the difference if the item you bought goes on sale, and this is good for 30 days after the purchase date.I picked up my 40XBR4 on 1/5/08 and it went on sale twice after I bought it . I got back 53$ the first time and an additional 200$ the second time around . So if you get one a couple of weeks before pres. day weekend, your sure to get someof your dough back

Last week was the best time!! Best Buy and CC wrapped up their 36 month financing and many markdowns were taken to get people to buy up old stock.

4 million TV's are bought for the Super Bowl. The Super bowl is like the xmas shopping season for TV's.

I bought my 52" XBR4 last week at CC when it was on sale. My dad bought one too. That was the lowest I'd ever seen that TV and I'm glad we bought when we did because it's not even being advertised this week.

Right now is the best time. Most chains are having sales and interest free buy programs. This is their slow time, so they need to keep the inventory going out.

Some really sweet deals out there, especially the open box, returned items after the holidays!

Personally, my experiences lead me to believe that the week before Thanksgiving is the best time. I picked up my Sony 52XBR3 LCD in November 2006 for $1500 cheaper than anywhere else by asking Best Buy to match an online retailer. For the three months prior, they said no, but that week the answer was yes. I did the same thing in November 2007 on a Sammy HL-T6187S DLP with Best Buy and they matched Amazon. I've never seen prices come as low as I've paid at any other time of the year. I must admit, I was asked to leave the store in the months prior in both years when trying to cut a deal
