Question HDTV Purchase - Christmas or Super Bowl Time

I'm looking to purchase either a 46 or 50 inch TV in the next month or so. I didnt have the money for BF so I know I missed those deals. Will I get a better deal purchasing around this time or should I wait till around the Super Bowl to purchase? Are the 2010 models going to be significantly different? I'm prob looking around the $1000-$1300 range, but no definite budget has been determined.

Your input is greatly appreciated!

It's going to be about the same. If you wait for the 2010 models to come out your going to then wait for them to be cheaper, by the time they get cheaper, your going to say "what about the 2011 models. It's a vicious cycle. If your ready to buy go ahead and buy now. They're are some really good TV's out right now. For that money you can get the Panasonic 50" G10 for about 1100.00

Many retailers are extending the Black Friday pricing through December. If you wait until January, you may miss out. As Ben Franklin said " A BIRD ( OR AN HDTV ) IN THE HAND IS WORTH TWO IN THE BUSH " !!

I would wait until Superbowl time because they drop prices big time for the game. Sears in my area has been doin this every year but the only draw back is they get returns like crazy after the game! I guess thats why the charge a 25% restocking fee.

I've seen places that jack up the price right before SuperBowl (especially on projectors), so YMMV. This year, with unemployment above 10%, I suspect that good deals will be available at most times of the year, with prices heading upward this summer.

Well I have spoken to the wife and she is ok if we get it now. Where is the best place to get the G10? Does Sams carry that model? Couple other questions: Where do I find those "Burn-in" DVDs and any suggestions for economical TV stand?

If you see a great deal get it. I missed out when Best Buy was giving away free PS3, game and a blu ray with every Sony TV purchased. I went late Sunday and everything was sold out. The higher end TVs were the 1st to go. Then the following Sunday they had no similar deals.

Thanks! Im now questioning whether I should go with G10 or get the S1 and save money for the stereo that needs to be bought as well. We are moving up from a 19" regular old TV so both of those models will bring a whole new world. Neither of us are videophiles, we just like watching movies and TV as a couple and want something we can read the subtitles on from 8-10 feet back
