Their money? They don't have any money of their own. They are us. Us is them. Their money is my money.

Thats exactly it. more people need to realize this.

Thank you.

Mine was $7600 last year. Hopefully this year will be at least half that. Having a baby on 12/30 is bound to help some.

My wife and I are getting back just shy of $2000.

For a while we've been talking about getting her a new combined setting for her wedding and engagement ring, and we will be doing that soon (luckily I have some connections where this will be able to be done at or near wholesale), so that should only use a small portion of our money.

I am planning on taking both of our cars in for some maintanence soon (oh joy!), and figure that I'll just put the remaining money towards that. If there's anything left over, it will likely just go in the bank.

My "returns" are going to student loans. I need to start doing what you are saying. That money was mine to begin with. In fact, the IRS should be abolished, the income tax should be abolished, and the Fair Tax should be implemented.

It's alot easier than fretting and worrying about 'Hey do I owe money this year'.

Even better is that at least according to the guidelines, our claimed exceptions are accurate. Just with a job with mandatory overtime, well some weeks you're in a different tax bracket than other weeks .

well i guess if you are 100% dedicated and can do this than fine. but most of us out there this is like a savings account, sure we are not getting any return on the money. but geting a large check to say pay off a car, buy a car, repair a car, repairs to your home, prebuy your oil for next winter (like i will), pay off debt, etc. these large checks come in handy.

but for those of you out there who are blessed financially than its good for toys, vacations, HT upgrades, blu ray movies, etc and thats great. but not all of us can do that. just my 2 cents

Mine was about $1500. I got less this year because I had them take less out of my paycheck each week. My money is going toward being a new PC next month.

I should be getting little over 1k,
generally because I paid over 2500 in student loan interest,
thank goodness for those 17% interest loans.

I plan on buying a HD-Tv with it, to establish this odd thing called
credit, because I have none and with my low pay = a alarm going off
and security asking you to leave.

Plan on buying on credit and paying 60% off and make slow payments,
the tax return is greater then the cost of the TV.

I have mixed feelings of w-4's the IRS took 1/4 and the w-4 company took
2/4 from my parents that made things really rough...

Hopefully my parents further endeavors work out a little better.

I'd strongly recommend against this. I know it goes against the grain of all you've seen and been told to do by financial "experts", but the fact of the matter is that a "good credit score" is just another name for an "i love debt score", and no one can win financially by borrowing money. Despite what banks and TV tells you, you do NOT need a credit score, not even to buy a house. Anyone who says different is either financially ignorant, or selling something (or both).

People who are winning financially (notice I did not say "rich" or "wealthy") do not borrow money. In the rare circumstance where one might need a loan for a home, you should use a financial statement, not your credit score, to qualify. If you walk into a bank and hand someone your financial statement, they treat you MUCH differently than those poor bastards who say, "I need money. Can you pull my credit and tell me how much I can get?"

Feel free to PM me for more unbiased info, but the fact of the matter is that building your credit is not a plan for financial success.

I tryed to get a apartment and the little red siren went off my score was too small and with my income the points did not add up.

Establishing something would be better if I ever want a car I will have to have something.

At my weekly pay of 200 dollars a week... I am not going to get in debt because I have the full amount of the purchase. -_-

Care to elaborate a little? I work for a large luxury yacht dealer (Millions of dollars), unless you have cash, collateral equal to the amount of the loan, or a 720+ credit score, you are shit out of luck.

I don't deal with anything financial like that but like you, I always thought everything was based around credit score.

Well basically everything I have ever read about personal finance, disagrees with his post in every way. So I would like to hear some ways to get loans without a good credit score, without having millions in liquid.

Many things that have nothing to do with loans are based on your credit score, employment searches and insurance for example.
