Default Ever Walkout/refund a movie?

Tell your movie theater horror stories. We all have had to make up our minds whether we want to sit through the horrible movie, or deal with the annoying chatter boxes behind us. Usually, if your lucky you can get a refund with in a hour or less of the start of the movie...sometimes we are not so lucky 1. The movie had no chance to be good 2. People were too annoying 3. Other, your personal experience

I have walked out or refunded many times, and always from the same chain (AMC); now that we have another Imax in town that isn't attached to that chain, I boycott them completely.

I walked out of "College" three times. There was nothing else playing and they wouldn't give me my money. Worst movie I have ever seen.

Thats true, but it's also a known fact that if you make enough fuss...you will get your refund. So there isn't any reason you would feel you should get a refund?

Who's we? I expect a refund any time I'm ripped off; and when I've been charged $12 for a presentation and they can't get the sound or projection right (and don't seem to care), I've been ripped off.

Some consumers are just total pushovers, not me.

... which happens constantly, and which used to be moderated by ushers back in the day, but they don't provide that service anymore, and they should, for that price.

so the movie's you rent, the cd's you buy, etc etc..you take them back and expect a refund after you find out they suck? give me a break

some consumers expect the world to be handed to them.

I think your right about your last point, nice theaters like art house/specialty cinemas take better care of there customers IMO. I drive 45 minutes further and pass several theaters do have that perfect experience.

I've gotten a refund for a DVD rental once, but that was because it was morally offensive.

I havent ever asked for a refund due to the quality of the movie, but i have asked for refunds because of technical difficulties the theater was having, projection or audio issues. Alot of times they will just try and give you a free pass to another movie, though I always demand to have my cash back.
