I hope we get Curse of the black widow one day! That was a pretty cool monster movie. Anyone else saw that one?

Dan Curtis truly was the king of tv horror back then.

Dan Curtis definitely was responsible for a lot of the great made-for-TV horror films of that era. The Curse of the Black Widow was always a favorite of mine, and is certainly deserving of a blu-ray release. I've always thought of the story as sort of a long lost episode of Kolchak: The Night Stalker. I can definitely see Darren McGavin as "Kolchak" hot on the trail of the mystery of the Black Widow.

So, which one would you guys recommend that have been released so far? I'm mostly a monster fan. I've seen both Kolchak movies, Are you afraid of the dark, The trilogy of terror, Salem's lot, The Bermuda depts, Dracula and i've got Moon of the wolf coming.
Also loved Curse of the black widow (obviously). Oh and IT of course but I'm mostly looking for 70's stuff. How's snowbeast? Looks like a cool monster on that cover art. :P

OP, don’t forget Hotline (1982)! I’ve been yelling about that one needing a Blu-ray release for years now. Not sure who owns it.

Snowbeast was a favorite of mine as a kid growing up in the 70’s. Always watched it when it was on a network broadcast.

The bottom line is that almost ALL of these films are fun and worth adding to collections. Even when they underwhelm, I’m reminded of how they still deliver solid entertainment when compared to current cinema…

That was another TV movie that literally terrified me as a kid… Kim Novak joined Karen Black on a list of actresses that I could never look at the same way again!

Would love to see MIDNIGHT'S CHILD (1992) released. It stars Olivia d'Abo and Elizabeth Moss. Occult/thriller

I'll add a vote for a popular favorite that was frequently on late night TV back in the late 1970s and 1980s called Night Slaves (1970).

I'd love to see a blu-ray release of that movie.

Shows how accurate the forum's advanced searches are, I guess. Wasn't my intention to step on anyone's toes.

This thread's focus is TV horror and thrillers of the 70s-90s only, so your thread is safe.

Really surprised that a TV movie with genuine slasher (or proto-slasher, may be more accurate) movie elements like Home For the Holidays still hasn't been released on Blu-ray by someone.

You put the VHS artwork on a Blu-ray cover, and it'll sell...

Who controls it? Probably in the ABC/Disney/Fox blackhole

This one is available on DVD from Paramount, so hopefully we will see a Blu-ray in the near future!

Sadly it is indeed with Disney, like many other ABC-owned 70s TV movies. I have a suspicion that this is one of the TV movies Kino initially acquired as part of their Disney deal but had to drop, either due to poor elements or, more likely, clearance issues.

I always liked Satan's School For Girls. Aaron Spelling production with two (pre-)Charlie's Angels. Good stuff.
