Im addicted to guitar hero 3....

playing a little guitar in my past, i turned a cold shoulder to 1 and 2, but with all the hype surrounding 3, i just had to try it.

now im ranked 75th in overall campaign, and i still, am not bored with it.

Now, I know I'm late with this considering this was one of the first titles released, but...fantastic stuff. Never knew games could look this good. The surround sound inherent in the game is fantastic, you can hear when the Chimera are around a corner, skittering about behind you, or upstairs...and when they jump on you, haha - good stuff. Can't stop playing since I picked it up yesterday afternoon.

What other games in this fashion would be recommended? I think Call of Duty 4 is what I'm hearing on these forums as a great game to pick up.

you sound like me almost a year ago...I've had more PS3 games in the past year than I have ever had with any system...

That is a fun game. Although it is more of private game but the graphics, at times, are incredible these days.

private? no way. get a house full of drunk 20 somethings and put this on. holy crap. new drinking games are invented every minute. "everytime the shark eats a ducky take a shot."
"you just said ducky"
"shut up"

ah. good times good times. thats why we have extra pillows. rarely can people drive home after the "F%@@ing drunky ducky drinking game" as one put it.

As far as a first person shooter The Orange Box can't be beat. You get five games for the price of one, so you will be playing it for a while. I didn't try out the online gaming when I rented it but I hear Team Fortress is really good too. I can't wait for Killzone 2 and Resistence 2, those two will eat up a lot of my time.

Here are my recommendations

1.) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
2.) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
3.) Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction
4.) Rock Band
5.) Oblivion
6.) Heavenly Sword
7.) Motorstorm
8.) Devil May Cry 4
09.) Orange Box
10.) Folklore
11.) Warhawk
12.) Fight Night: Round 3

Plus download some of the great PSN games like High Velocity Bowling, Super Stardust HD, Pain, Everyday Shooter, Calling all Cars, and Pixeljunk Monsters.

I also recommend checking out the demos which you can easily download to your PS3.

I'd recommend Oblivion Game of the year edition. Picked it up 2 months ago and still play for hours a day. Absolutly can't wait foe RFOM2 later this year.

+1

I've played most games on Ps3, and Oblivion remains my #1
I love COD4, but overall considering graphics and playability, Oblivion is unmatched.
