Default So I finally picked up a PS3 game. I'm speechless.

I was never a hardcore video gamer since the days of the N64, and after that I just played Madden up until giving up new video games 3 years ago. (Can't be beaten at Mario Kart or Goldeneye.)

But I saw a deal on Resistance: FOM that I couldn't pass up ($10 mint) - and put it in and played it. Now, I know I'm late with this considering this was one of the first titles released, but...fantastic stuff. Never knew games could look this good. The surround sound inherent in the game is fantastic, you can hear when the Chimera are around a corner, skittering about behind you, or upstairs...and when they jump on you, haha - good stuff. Can't stop playing since I picked it up yesterday afternoon.

What other games in this fashion would be recommended? I think Call of Duty 4 is what I'm hearing on these forums as a great game to pick up.

call of duty 4 is awesome. also drake's fortune. and if its sound and graphics you love... HEAVENLY SWORD. never have i seen face animations look so beautiful in a video game. and im an avid gamer. that game is beyond my expectations. its short so you might want to rent. =)

Yeah, if you are into shooters CoD4 would be your best choice of games currently available. There is a Resistance 2 megathread floating around that you can read up that filled with goodies about the second game. It should be due out at the end of 2008.

I would also suggest Drake's Fortune: Uncharted. It is the best game on the PS3. It is more of an action/adventure/platform type of game but the graphics and sound are top notch on Uncharted.

Yes, COD4. Or Uncharted, that one was pretty darn good as well. Warhawk is still my favorite though

well, it will be more or less a bell curve. as it usually is for me. You'll start playing and wont stop for a while and then it'll decrease and level off somewhere in the middle/bottom depending on how many games you can afford to keep buying to keep your interests.

Exactly. What could I say?

"As I sit back and reflect on the 4 months I've been Blu, I like to think about the many moments that have shaped my life..."

Best save the good stuff for 3,000 posts or whatnot.

Default Oblivion...

Oblivion, if you like Knights and Troll kinda games... I dig it. I bought Oblivion and Resistance early on... never disappointed with either.

Feel free to add me to your friends list on PSN. I try to play R:FOM about once a week. The games are nice and short, and I suck, but it's fun.

I'd recommend Drake's Fortune. I have the demo, and it seems fun, but FPS games aren't my favorite exactly (because I suck at them). But my friends all like it.

I LOVE Heavenly Sword. Bought it from a member here and am still working on it. Very good game with an excellent story and fun voice acting. But I can only play it when the kids aren't around cuz they are too distracting.

Try some PSN games like High Velocity Bowling, PAIN, and PixelJunk Monsters. These games are very fun with 2 players (and even more fun while drinking).
