Nah. It was literally in their hands to avoid this whole mess in the first place. Instead they tried to foist an inferior product on the market. I know it was just business .. which is why I'll take my standalone player business to someone like Panasonic instead.

and look at it this way their first BD player will cost as much as 90 to 150 and that is a chance to get a cheap player, that is if they release one. They did it with HDDVD, so i wont think their would be a problem with buying a toshiba BD player.

It's not like Sony stuck it's neck into a format war for the first time with Blu-ray. I generally hate all the proprietary format's Sony has created. But this time around, the BDA created the better product - and that's what I always buy, the product, not the name stamped on it. |

My opinion... NEVER! I have owned several Toshiba electonic units in the past. Each has felt like a feable and delicate piece of equipment that, if even remotely bumped or nudged, could potentially damage it for good. I prefer to know for a fact that my electronics have some girth to protect their central nervous systems.

I think that's what caused them to bleed from the anus. I doubt highly they would have players that cheap...it will be funny when they have a BD player that's not as cheap as their HD DVD players. Then we can ask what happened to their lower prices?

The word is Toshiba's about the pull the plug on HD-DVD and they're developing a BD player. I say it's about time and welcome aboard.

![]() However, on the subject Toshiba is corp. they will end up making money once they switch. whenever there is a format war somebody is going to end up losing for example when Beta by sony VS. VHS by JVC, sony lost the war and ended up producing VHS players. and guess what their players was the top of the line. people didn't cut them off. I predict the same thing will happen with toshiba. I am not saying their players are going to end up the top of the line, I am just saying that people will purchase their BD players. |

Toshiba made several highly reviewed DVD players in the past, and I currently own two of them. I also own a Toshiba 27 inch TV set that is in my bedroom. However, given the path Toshiba chose to walk in the HD format wars, I will no longer spend another dime on their products.
Toshiba, and HD-DVD, are dead to me. DEAD!!! |
