With a PS3 and a Panasonic DMP-BD50 on the way? Doubtful I'll need anything more than those two. Perhaps others will, they are still reliable electronics manufacturers, no need to take things personal from them...it's not like their HD-DVD players, DVD players, TVs, and computers just 'Fail'. I would have no need to purchase a player from them, but in the future if they do put one out, I'm sure others will.

People who take things personally really don't realize they're not proving anything to anyone, 'one-less-consumer-oh-well' - if anything, more electronics for us.

Toshiba created too much bad blood with camp blu. So, I don't see any of our devotee's buying it. Then there are the betrayed red campers would wouldn't spit on Toshiba if it were on fire. They are the technical lame duck. Their decision to do what was best for the consumer was litterally too little, too soon, and not enough too late.

Maybe they can win us over with cheap players.

tough to answer since you didn't give any hypothetical Specs, costs, etc.....

If you're trying to get a reaction from people based solely on brand loyalty.....

would you buy a 50" 1080p LCD for $500...... oh yeah... it's "Toshiba"

Why do so many people feel they're soldiers in this "war" buy what you want...... I purchased a Toshiba DVD player in 1996/97 and it still works just fine... my wife watches her yoga videos on it in the basement.....

When I look for televisions I usually just look at Sony, but I'm not completely closed off to other options. I prefer IBM think-pads, but I think Mac's powerbook or whatever it is, is nice, and I like the Vaio also....

Developing brand loyalty is one thing, but be careful, because Bose used to make pretty good speakers, now they make "decent" speakers at an inflated price because they're selling to a fixed, brand-loyal market, and new customers are buying based on the loyalty of the existing customers.

There's not enough information given for anyone to make an educated decision on whether they'd purchase a Toshiba blu-ray player or not. For all you gamers, they might focus on the next great state-of-the-art gaming console.....

Toshiba makes great products and therefore I'd buy one from them if I needed a new player.

Not really a "brand name loyalty" just looking at the best I can afford to buy. I alwaz look for a company where their main strength areas are. For example cameras, I would mainly looking for CANON, OLYMPUS and NIKON cause that what those companies are known for. As far as I am concern, TOSHIBA is not the top-notch when it come to players and TVs. They might make a decent laptops but its not company's core strength. One more thing, TOSHIBA isnt associate with blu to begin with so I will have my doublt about their "first" BLU player until later gets improve

I'd say no. I have a PS3 and a Sony standalone or another PS3 would be my only choices.

I buy products based upon them meeting my needs, the quality they provide me, and at the price point I decide. If my next Blu Ray player is made by Toshiba, so be it. If it's a Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, or any other brand so be it as well.

Boycotting a Toshiba or Microsoft product simply because of a 'format war' and them being on the other side is moronic and a decision steeped in rabid fanatacism.

Boycott the product because it's inferior or not up to par with competition, not because you need to show you're a product loyalist.
